Okay okay I finally got an Octatrack after years and years of thinking about it.. Will be here tomorrow! Definitely be watching through a bunch of your vids 😎
oh my gosh, this is exactly what I've been waiting for you to do! I really needed a walkthru little by little. Great little explanations for the why for each setting. Your best video yet. I'm gonna set mine up for guitar and vocal, instead of melody and drums. Fun.
EZ you are truly genius when it comes to the Octatrack. You even have a following out here in Berlin. I hope Elektron has compensated you well for keeping it's sales up. I sold mine last week for 1000 euros and bought an RC505 mk2 and honestly, I don't think I'll ever look back. The loopstation does what I and I think many others wanted the octa to do all along. It's also really easy to learn. I was never as excited about using the octa as I am using the loopstation. It doesn't look as cool next to my Digitakt, in fact it looks cheap by comparison, but it is so much more inspiring to use. Sell your octatrack! Nah, seriously tho.
Woah you really did it, thanks man!! I still remember asking you, I think in the comments of a video about an OT template. I didn't expect this video to come, anymore... meanwhile, I understoof some parts of it by checking its configuration in the template, but having it explained properly adds a lot to my understanding. It's by far my favorite effect, because it just works so well in all kinds of situations.
Thanks for breaking down another of your very cool effects! I love the colour coded scene legend you now have-a classy step up from the old masking tape. Is there a video where you talk about the new legend? I tried making a piece of thin cardboard with cut-outs that could be placed over the bottom trigs to write scenes on, but it didn’t really work.
I want to take the ideas in your OT performance FX template and adapt them for Ableton. There's some stuff in the recent max for live Performance Pack for Live 12 that makes it seem like it can get close to what you're doing. Might also need to use ClyphX for some things. I'm using a Push 2 and a couple of Launch Control XLs, but it should eventually be adaptable to a Push 3 and a MIDI fighter twister or whatever, which would be better for live use.
can i ask you if your cf card eject button being out is an issue? i just got my octatrack and i inserted the card without pressing the button. it works fine, but it looks like your octa does and im scared to take the card out because of bent pins problem
