Does anyone else sit here and wonder why they would put her in the position to ask questions? I feel like the camera guy would've provided better commentary and a better lineup of questions than she does.

How do you get permission to go to all these awesome places?! You are such a small community (But an insane one) compared to these companies!!

After this we will have a Bugatti with a million HP and a top speed of 1050 mph! Koenigsegg will lauch "The Two" with two million HP and a top speed of 1500 mph! They both will have wings!

Ive compared this to the snapshots of the american and australian efforts and although i wont knock their engineers there is something really serious and elegant about this project. I always get angered by people who knock projects like this. This shows how capable we are in engineering from the city built on brunels principles that has had its international importance eroded since successive governments desicions to lay waste to our aerospace industry. If you want to see a return of fantastic british engineering then support projects like this and if you dont. Go watch cats playing pianos.

why no carbon fibre on the bottom chasssis? its stronger then steel but 1/2 as light
@StefanMarjoram
@StefanMarjoram 10 лет назад
The panels will effectively be sandblasted for a couple of minutes on every run - Thrust SSC did over 60 runs and by the end some of the panels were getting dangerously thin - for this reason steel has been seen as a safer option.

I hope they make the speed there after it would be cool, but the bloodhound is an exercise in how much money it takes to git the record. take a look at the north american team, they are repurposing and rebuild a F-104. and only one engine of any kind. and they need to use a jet not a rocket that would make for a much better accomplishment
@deltaalpha21074
@deltaalpha21074 10 лет назад
So they are going to build the car around the JET ENGINE and then when it hits the 700 MPH mark Kaboom they will ignite the solid rocket motor and hold on baby? I hope they consider how much stress will truly be on the axle and suspension? They need to consider the vibration on such and even the bearings.
@camerceru
@camerceru 10 лет назад
They probably won't do any go those things. I mean, lets be honest, they are just winging all of this and not doing much of any planning.
@deltaalpha21074
@deltaalpha21074 10 лет назад
Uh take good look ? they already have all the parts in order ..just a matter of small tests and then KABOOM they hit that ROCKET ENGINE and hold on for dear life?

It's not a car. Cars are wheel-driven. This thing is an airplane without wings. The trick is how to keep it on the ground.Take a F18 fighter plane, land it on a very long runway, keep it planted for about half a mile, and zoom off again. Presto, land speed record 1500 MPH. BUT: how to keep the landing gear from tearing off long enough, how not to end up belly-flopping the thing

Why is aircraft aluminium always green
@flybobbie1449

Chromatic corrosion resistance.
@ricomichel
@ricomichel 9 лет назад
fly bobbie some sort of corrosion-resistant surface treatment, that makes sense, thanks!
@bryanflores8220
@bryanflores8220 9 лет назад
Aluminum is flexible and the wings need to be flexible if they were metal or sum els the wings would be shaken off because of the speed

Tommy Vincent how is it homosexual and also, it is a land speed record car not a production car(the fastest production car by Guinness strict rules is the buggati veyron ss) just because it has a jet or rocket engine unlike the petrol cars your use to doesn't mean it's not a car

and why not use all steel or all aluminium, pick one metal and build one out of each metal.
@drumphil101
@drumphil101 10 лет назад
Different parts of the car require greater strength than other parts depending on their loading during operation. The different parts have different specifications, and a good engineer will choose the material that meets those specifications rather than just blindly using all Steel. This project is a perfect exercise in brilliantly thorough Engineering.
