Very nice. Just bought my sim package and its in transit, one point that is also worthwhile considering that got me over the line is the cost of membership v cost of sim. Where i live membership is stupid expensive so an easy decision.

Great stuff, I'm about to build my own garage sim, I also started with a skytrak a few years back but recently picked up a 2nd hand GC3 (£5k) which has been a really good upgrade. I was starting to think about how to do the screen and how the commercial enclosures won't quite work in the space - so the advice on self build looks like it'll be the answer.

I have a similar amount of space to use, 13 feet long & 9-10 feet wide, plenty of height to swing from either side (we've tested it). Question is, I have family members and a buddy or two who swing left, the rest of us of course swing right. There's lots of room to swing either side of the mat, but how would you do that launch monitor wise? One each side? There's about 6.5 feet behind me and in front to where the screen would be (due to the ceiling being peaked in the middle, I'll need to hit from dead center) so I don't know if radar units would work.

The answer to that would usually be to use a radar based launch monitor that sits behind you, but they need at least 7ft of ball flight and 8ft behind you to work so it doesn’t sound like you’d have enough space

@@hcpgolf believe it or not the building was an actual pig pen many years ago, we put a concrete floor in but I could "bump out" the walls behind a bit to accomodate an 8 foot radar clearance (wooden walls) BUT I still need to hit from two sides of the mat......so 2 seperate radars?

No mate just one radar will work - look into the Garmin R10, Rapsodo MLM2 or Flightscope Mevo+ they will all work as long as you’ve got enough space 👍🏼⛳️

@@hcpgolf thanks, I'll check it out, I assumed I'd have to constantly be moving the unit when the lefties hit from the other side of the mat, but if not, that's great.
