If you are building an underseat subwoofer enclosure there are a couple of challenges to deal with. How do you fit all the subs? How do you cut angles accurately for the pieces? I haven't watched your videos for some time now. The only reason is I got out of the car audio scene after selling my last huge system. I really got into custom woodworking and added a CNC machine to my shop. I had some downtime and wanted to check out this video... I'm not even building a box. EXCELLENT work! Your attention to detail is superb. I did buy plans from you once and they were absolutely perfect. Great job and keep it up. 600k subs is awesome.

Firstly, nice box! I'm very interested in knowing how it looks when it's finished. I'm also curious about how you cut the angles on the sides. Second, thank you for all of the advice and knowledge that you give! I've been following your channel for a while. Recently, I built a subwoofer enclosure for my car. Using your tips helped me to avoid some key errors when designing and building it. I didn't know what to expect from my subwoofer/enclosure but it's impressive to me. Your channel and teachings are a great resource for me and, I'm sure, many others.

I bought an underseat active "slim" subwoofer from JBL but I'm really having a hard time liking all that muffled bass coming from under the passenger seat. Do you have any tips for placement of the speaker, or would you consider making a video to explain how to get that best sound out of those? Mine is a JBL sw6-8s model I really appreciate your channel, learned lots here!

I have a custom made subwoofer underseat of my pick up truck ... first it was sealed then after some times i modified it to ported... now its sound more louder more punch more pleasure

You can adjust your measure indicator to make your cuts accurate. All the functions of the saw should have adjustments like this. Always double-check before cutting. Things can move.

do you somehow waterproof this subwoofer. I can imagine that because it's under the seat, during rainy days carpet becomes wet and MDF do not like it...

How do you determine the minimum distance from the sub mounting fasteners to the edge of the board? How do you apply that to different sub wattages, board densities and thickness?

I just got into your website using the links. And noticed you don't have a underseat box for a 2003 Dodge ram with the underseat storage compartment. I believe the newer rams have the same compartment but no sure. Will you ever do something for these type of trucks.

Great work Mark! I've got a question. Have you ever made a custom center console from scratch? Or have you ever worked on a big van like a Chevy express? I have recently purchased a chevy express and I want to upgrade all of it. I added a nice pioneer head unit, a provisional active subwoofer under the seat, a set of component speakers in the front and a pair of coaxial speakers in the back along with a super tiny amplifier from db drive (euphoria series). I really want to make something great out of that project and I've been looking at JL Audio for the whole system. Im thinking about a sealed enclosure with a pair of 10TW1 subwoofers inside the custom center console, a nice set of C2 component speakers in the doors, a set of C1 coaxial or component speakers in the back (6x9 woofer) and maybe a pair of C1 4 inch coaxials in the middle for a nice complementary fill due to the size of the vehicle. The thing here is that I am trying to figure out the system and the possible uses of such a huge space added by a center console (it would be about 30 inches long, 15 inches wide and 16 inches tall) and It would be super usefull to get some inspitation, tips or guide about it. What do you think about the system? Would you change anything? Would you go with the small coax in the middle or simply use the front and back speakers? Thanks a lot

Hello sir. I would like to install 2x2 6.5 inch speakers in the front. I want both 4 ohm speakers and parallel it to 2 ohm and then bridge it on a 4 channel pioneer digital Amp.(120w rms/channel 2 ohm capable) No speakers at the back only dual speakers at front. What do you think which speakers I should go with ? I would like to have component speakers not coax. I'm now running focal mid series but only 1 pair.

Except it is literally a perfect match for what JL recommends. That's what happens when you use subwoofers that are actually engineered and designed for the application, instead of some of these companies making cheap wannabe "shallow mounts" that require just as much air volume as a traditional sub.

I like the video and the great work on the box. My question is how you decided how much space to leave between the baffle/sub and the floor, and if you calculated the area for the cutouts in front and back. I am doing a "down" firing sub into the solid back of a seat with a cutout (arm rest fold down), and am trying to decide how much space to leave for the 2 10s. I was trying to use the surface area of the subs but that ended up with 6" of space which seems like too much. I assume I will end up with a quasi-bandpass type of thing which your box should as well. Did you compensate for the extra woofer loading in your box calculations?
