Just wanted to pop in and say thank you for this video! I bought a pretty badass mech about 18mo ago and the guy at the shop told me how to build the coils. The cotton was quick to get burnt and I was replacing it pretty regularly. I assumed this was normal. I learned from this video that the cotton was way too tight within the coils. Now I have the confidence to tweak my build a little bit each time until I find what's perfect for me. Even with my first build after watching this video, the hits are a lot more flavorful and produce much larger clouds. Thanks again!
Well done DashVapes and DaveVapes. I switched to RTA's and rebuilding a Year ago and I'm so glad I did. Rocked stock coils for 2 Years and was happy but the cost savings is undeniable!
Building coils is rewarding and makes it affordable than it does smoking. I used to be smoking a pack every two days and vaping helped me ween off of smoking. I still smoke cigarettes but i’ve got to a pack a week.
4:02 i would press the coil against the lip on the rod to compress it to more uniform shape since kantal is bit springy so it will compress and leave even space between each wrap. and when it comes to building coils fist time, i recommend getting a cheap dripper "RDA" to test each coils and practice wicking. also drippers are good when testing out different flavours since its easy to clean and u just need to drop few drops of juice on the cotton. i got my self velocity RDA long time ago and its my go to test RDA when i try out different coils and flavour mixes
@@Anonymous_________ i know but im giving out pointers. every time i make a coil i first spread it a bit then compress it so it has more even spacing between the wraps. over the years i have made my own coils i have noticed that spaced coil last longer and dont gunk up so fast compared to fully compressed coils. also i use Kuro coiler and those make coils more tight so i always expand them after i make one
I so miss the ability to buy rebuildable tanks. Greatly miss it. These "senior-proof" CRC tanks they have out forced out now, are a pain. You can't take the tank apart to wash every mm of the tank. H.C. never understood the need for doing that, I guess. Or that not everyone felt the need for finicking gizmos to lock the tank, in case a child went near it. Great video gentlemen, I have been doing rebuildable tanks for over 7 years, now. Steam Crave V2 loved that tank. Nothing fancy, single coil set up for MTL. H.C. has taken away so many unique features that made vaping work for adults, who seek a safer alternative to continued smoking. H.C. is handing the industry over to B.T versions, which are inferior devices and repulsive tasting. Stand up against H.C.'s latest potential regulation, which would see, many vape shops close within Canada. If you vape, advocate. ✊👊 #THRWorks
I'm using a 2x twisted micro claptons at 0.5ohms and 28w in a Blotto RTA. I can't remember the exact gauges though. It has a quick ramp-up time unlike big claptons and the flavour and vapour are amazing. I've been using the same coils for almost 1 year now and I haven't bought any vape supplies since then either, my cotton bacon is probably about 70% full each of the 10 cotton sticks can rewick 12-16 times depending how I cut and part them
Still rocking my almost 6 year old geekvape ammit 25,built like a brick shithouse. Also using 6 rdas, 6 other rtas and guilty of sub-ohm tanks usage as well. Hmm..... maybe I'm addicted🤔.
@@chasingcloudsandflavorrevi9817 I don't have anywhere near that but I do have 6 rdas,7 rtas and 5 sub-ohm tanks on my little island here, each with their own flavour all ready to vape 😬all low wattage though 15-35 watts
I have wanted to build for a few years but been too hesitant since I would be figuring it out on my own. I have so many questions about resistance, wraps, gage to get the preferred wattage. I need a remedial class. None of the nearby vape shops sell any wire or cotton and only know about Kratom. I’m in the US so I guess it doesn’t matter since the taxes are going up so much I’ll have to quit.
Rebuilding = pennies on the dollar, compared to using premade coils. Edit (after re-watching): potential safety / building concerns: 4:13 Coil leg is improperly routed along the outside of the coil guide / capture post. 4:30 Negative coil leg are not fully captured. 4:44 Positive coil leg are not fully captured. (Will result in a short, if it comes into contact with the sidewall of the chimney.) These mistakes appeared to be corrected later in the video, but there is no attention called to them.
All of this is fixed after boy snip the extra wire. Basic knowledge, you are knit picking an unfinished build. Notice how all those legs are gone after the cuts?!? Clearly you didn't.
