I like the overall design of the small place. However, I would have not painted the brick. If the family decides to sell in the future, it would be hard for them to take it off; especially if the buyers like continuous brickwork for the whole house. I would have (a) put plywood panels (wood or synthetic) over the brick (like it was done on the mirror wall) or (b) put concrete board panels. In painting, I would have not gone with the black and white color tones. It doesn't complement the style that already exists in the yard; as presented by the cameras. That's my take on it, based on experience.
