This is really nice. If you can oil and spray scalp product that promotes growth like I do to mine then I’d call it a protective style. I don’t have to add heat to my hair or bother it for 3 weeks when I get this style and it’s a perfect soft style for work. This is very very nice and you did a great job

My grain of salt on whether the style is protective: I feel like protective style is a loaded term. So often we think the only thing we need for a style it be protective is to keep our hands out of our hair or tuck it away, but it takes more to promote healthy hair and scalp. Many people, and I've done it too, avoid cleansing and moisturizing our hair and scalp for the sake of maintaining the style, but then wonder why our hair comes out the "protective style" thirsty, brittle and damaged. I do think these braids have potential to be a low maintenance style that allows for adding moisture (i.e water in a spray bottle) the way you did it with minimal heat. What I don't know is if the style would stand up to washing, so I would personally only keep it in until wash day, maybe 2 weeks max depending on how much product was used. I love it the look. It's very cute, I love the relaxed bohemian feel of the look and could see myself rocking it with a variety of outfits and hair accessories.

How long does this style last?

First time doing the butterfly braids they looked really nice. Then I dipped the end of the braids in hot water and it turned the butterfly braids into just loose braids and the effect was gone
