He was imagining the wood was his family members killers, he was not trying to cut wood correctly. Really?! I would think his role as King Koopa in Super Mario Bros. would qualify as his worst. His performance as Lefty was pretty awesome actually.

At the period of this shooting , dennis hopper was a big cocaine-addicted (re-watch the hotal scene, where he meet for the first time stretch,and look at his face,He takes the slaps of the drug). he has to keep a very bad souvenir. nevertheless, even high, he "eat" the screen in the role of lefty. damn , this movie is a masterpiece of dark comedy. there is only the devil's rejects, which for me, arrives at him ankle. What Jim siedow and dennis hopper miss me. don't forget the memorable bill moseley in chop top. ps : sorry for my bad grammar, english is not my native language

Deplancke Flavien Are you talking about his hotel room drunk scene? According to the DVD commentary, Tom Savini said Hopper spun himself several times to simulate being drunk. I guess he could have had some toot too.

Yeah, this isn't Hopper's worst. He's doing a great job. Super Mario Bros. was a sad cash grab.

Top notch logging chainsaws cost well over $1000. The first chainsaw he chooses looks like a heavy duty chainsaw and could easily be worth it, even in 1986. And he could've easily destroyed it doing that dumb shit with the log.

My old man sold his 20 year old stihl 046 the other day, for 600. So, yeah. If you take care of it, a *good* chainsaw will run forever.

Definitely, I actually have all three chainsaws in this scene... the big Grey one is a rare 1986 west German Sachs Dolmar 112 silver star. They only made the Grey and black for 2 years so they're hard to find. Very heavy and unlike most chainsaws today it's practically all metal. Sachs dolmar was equal to sthil back then.. west Germany was known for high quality engineering. So at the time this was among the best chainsaws available. .. they made stronger saws like the sach dolmar 120 which I have as well... these vintage chainsaws are easy to fix and keep running and they are still worth good money. They don't make chainsaws like these any more. The original TCM the green saw leatherface had......poulan today has a bad reputation, not back then... back then they were top quality chainsaws and leatherface in the og used a Poulan 245a and it is a strong saw. It's also very very hard to come across one.. I see them on TCM fan groups and chainsaws addict groups and you will pay upwards of 300 usd if you're lucky. They're strong saws that run just as well as they did when new. Same for Lefty's saw here.
