I made the mistake of getting a balance bike with steel frame, and then adding even more weight by sticking Stan's tubeless goo in the tubes to prevent punctures, so my daughter looked like she was trying to lift a Harley off the ground; weight is crucial. Now she's really getting the hang of the balance bike, but the big breakthrough came when I got a KidsRide Shorgun Pro seat and handlebars to slap on my enduro. As soon as she was riding with me and learning how it feels to lean, her preschool teachers reported she was suddenly super keen to jump on the balance bikes at school and was ripping around the playground. Now I've removed the stirrups from her Shotgun foot-pegs, and we're rolling small tabletops, steep-ish rollers, and rock gardens, and she's learning how to stand up out of the saddle and move her weight back in the cockpit, absorb hits with her knees, and naturally learning to point her knees as the frame leans into corners beneath her. A good balance bike coupled with a cockpit-mounted kid's seat means you can skip the training wheels completely and produce a confident little shredder. Maybe *too* confident; she's started asking me why we're not hitting the elevated skinnies and drops...

What a fantastic channel! I've been riding for years but wasn't really sure how to introduce the fun to my little ones. We now have a couple of balance bikes ☺️. The garage collections grows !!
