I live in UK, I was thinking of buying a home quilting machine. After seeing your video I have learnt so much. Thank you for all the information you are giving in your video. I have been sewing for over forty years and still learning more.
I appreciate this video. it's the most informative and unbiased that I have found so far. it's helped me narrow down my must haves for a sewing machine upgrade. thank you!
I only need stop and go as I have been through about three cheap machines that are rather old. When I went to get a price for a new machine, the seller tried to make me spend over my budget--this at three different stores. Now, I'm doing my research!
Fantastic! Well organized, and easily understood, I hadn't realized all those features were available. I was just excited about getting the thread cutter! Thank you!
Since I plan to purchase a new sewing machine for quilting, I have been searching videos that educate me in this context. But I never came across such comprehensive n unbiased video. Rather than speaking about a brand n facilities thereof, it spoke about the features useful for quilters. Thank u so kuch for thai approach. Loved the feature of laser light. The info gathered from this video will certainly help me to zero down upon my choice. Thank u for efforts taken to make this video.
I love love the way you have explained all the features that will help a beginner pick a machine to enjoy and make family memories with joy.Thank you great Vidio and explained very well.
Jan, thank you so much for your presentations on how to choose right sewing machines. You really helped me to understand more about sewing machines and it is refresher for me by watching your videos. About three years ago I bought quilting sewing maching (computerized sewing machine) (very expensive one for novice quilter) after many many hours of watching youtube videos on sewing machine. After I watched your videos I really felt good about my decisions. It is exciting and fun to watch your demonstrations on sewing machines. Thank you so very much for your generiousity by advisting new sewers as when you know nothing about sewing machines it is scary. I admire and have great respect for sewing machines. The sewing machines are wonderful tools. Thank you for motivating me and make me appreciate my sewing machine, Husqvarna Viking Opal 690Q.
I run a woodshop, (my wife makes and sells dolls and a great many other things) i have recently gotten into quilting after volunteering on a 5 quilt charity project for a grieving family member (33 year old widow, and 4 young children) THIS VIDEO WAS AMAZING AND SO HELPFUL! thanks so much for being so clear, and such a great teacher!
Thank you for pointing out all the different options we should think about in the machine we think we want to use. The auto needle thread feature is getting to be an "A" list item the older I get. Keep up the great videos.
You are so fun to watch and listen to. Very informative! I have two Babylock machines. A smaller one, Grace and a long-arm , Coronet. But I'm interested in trading my Coronet for a sitdown Tiara or Regent. Reason for the change is my quilting interests have changed. While I have done several quilts since I purchased my Coronet, I'm realizing my passion is wall hangings and fiber arts. Plus the sit down is important. I plan on 'test driving' both soon.
Great video. I never thought I'd need a needle threader, but it's true that as your eyes age it's something that becomes really important. I also found your explanation of walking feet really helpful. If I can't try out the machine, I can't see spending thousands on it. I'm spending as much as I would on a used car, so I want a test drive. Thanks!
I wish I would have found this video a year ago!!! Wonderful information here. I think I would have bought a more expensive BabyLock. Don't get me wrong, I love my BabyLock Brilliant (which has the needle up/down and the auto needle threader and the thread cutter and more, but you showed so much more available on the Crescendo. The laser was amazing information. I will practice my walking foot a little more than I have been on my projects. I am just learning how to quilt and I am doing the quilt as you go method first. And I agree that the extended table is wonderful!! Thank you
I loved this video. The purchase of a machine is such an investment and there are so many options, this video helped me to disseminate some of the information going through my brain. I like that you covered different brands and highlighted features vs. brand. Liked and subscribed!
Jan, thank you so much for your video. Well, I just bought the BabyLock Soprano and it is wonderful. I've been watching videos looking for the perfect machine for 2 months. I just started quilting at 70. But I'd love to get the pattern or the instructions for the beautiful bag you are holding. Thank you!
Those are nice looking machines and the work they can do is beyond my ability as I am a beginner and won't be working on a machine that much. I purchased a machine from a company out of state and one within my price range for the temporary work I will be doing.
Thank you. I have studying this topic for six months. I did not know about lasar light. The extension table solves Another concern. Having incredible light is important to me as well. I thought i was down to between to until i watched the video.
Awesome tutorial, really impressed. I am watching from Papua New Guinea 🇵🇬 and I love to quilt and I use a simple Singer sewing machine which doesn't produce the perfect quilt as a quilting machine would and these features on a quilting machine have blown my mind away. I am interested in the needle up, needle down quilting machine, and would appreciate it if you could send me the cost of it with all the accessories costing as well, your response would be greatly appreciated, much thanks, Ade
Iam looking to be an occasional quilter. I beg to differ the singer heavy duty 6700c and it stinks. For a while sew very well with piecing the quilt but a queen size quilt I would love to finish myself. I would love an affordable with a domestic machine
I've just found your excellent video . I'm in the market for the Babylock JAZZ II ... here in Canada ! I ordered one 4 mths ago & still waiting & I've run out of patience. Can you help me ?
The BabyLock Jazz II has a bigger throat, but the Brilliant has just as many features and is less expensive. I bought my Babylock Brilliant a year ago and really like it. I can do quilting on it and basic sewing for projects. Good luck on your purchase of a new machine
