How To Buy A Ticket For Public Transport in Prague 

It's hard to ever see better public transport when there's only one better in the whole world and we don't even know where it is.🙂

Just if tourists knew how to behave in the City transportation/ any similar public one. Like not to drink, and eat, give the seat, be quiet, not to change soiled diapers during transportation, guard the animals short of move... MANY OF Those kids who grew up transported by the special school buses do have the egoistic cultural deprivation for the rest of life. I want to be wrong, but THESE tourists most often speak fluent English.

@@nicschintee1511 From the PID website: ‘Passenger that owns a ticket valid for 1 or more days can transport one piece of luggage (or a dog) for free (except trains).’ So, yes, the 72-hour ticket allows you to carry one big piece of luggage during the 72 hours.

I have an online ticket from pid litacka and I bought it with the option to activate it later. How and when should I activate the online ticket?

You only validate it once. It’s then valid for 72 hours. You don’t need to show it to anyone unless asked by a ticket checker.

You don't need extra ticket for a carryon suitcase, you're just fine!

Exactly my question is the same. Can I buy it from India using an app and activate it once in Prague?? I will be travelling on 15 oct to 17 oct in prague.

Why don’t you also comment that after you activate the ticket on the app you have to wait two minutes to be really valid and if they catch you on the entrance they will fine you even if is a system created by them , why don’t you also say that in andel for example you activate your paper ticket on the entrance and need to go downstairs for at least one minute and sometimes wait for 5 minutes metro that makes you use 25 out of the 30 minutes that you bought. If you don’t tell the truth your video has 0 credibility, you do a good work spotting the foreigner scams on your country. Why don’t you start to spot the scam the metro from your country do with foreigners? Why don’t you talk about the controllers that act as they are sheriffs or detectives trying to embarace people. I am waiting for that video.

Copenhagen is totally fine! S-Tog, metro, even buses are a blessing. I already forgot the exact tickets and prices, but they were reasonable. Next June I will have a chance to remind myself. When I had a part-time job there, I had monthly renewed rejsekort and an old bicycle did not worry about anything at all. The only downside I noticed is they apparently reduced some trains from Hoje-Taastrup to city center recently.

If using Google Pay or Apple Pay is an option for you, then you could add your card to the app and tap your phone instead.

If it has a chip and it's a Visa or Mastercard it will definitely work - you can insert it in the slot. Not sure about cards with a magnetic stripe only though. And if you have an American Express or Discover or something like that, you may be out of luck as well.

They build in a 2 minute delay so that you can’t simply keep a ticket ready in the app and only validate it when you see a ticket checker approaching. If you are buying single tickets in the app then validate them as the tram is approaching or before you reach the metro entrance.

Short answer: all means of transport that use the PID ticketing system in zones P, 0 and B. Long answer: City buses, trams and ferries within Prague will work with no problem, and so will suburban buses within city limits. For trains, they will work only on some trains - some train operators don't accept these tickets at all, and some only accept them on some of their trains. Unless… you buy a PID ticket for several zones. This type of ticket will work both on a Prague city bus as well as a regional train for example. A popular tourist destination within the "outer rings" of PID is Kutna Hora, which is in zone 7. However, when you're buying a ticket to there, you have to buy an 11-zone ticket because the Prague city centre zone (P) is counted twice, and you'll be going through two suburban zones (0 and B) before getting to the zones numbered 1 through 7. Yes. Normal services run until 00:00, and even after midnight, when the subway is closed, there are special night services. But after midnight it is definitely faster to take a taxi.

You don't add the baggage to the ticket, you simply buy a ticket for the bag. If you have a big bag with you, you buy a ticket for 0,85 cent, if you don't have a bag with you, you don't buy a ticket
