Hi, As in most of your videos you advise people to pay by card... You forget to take into account that people who do not have a credit card (and therefore use only EC banking card) always have a fee when they pay cashless in a foreign currency. In my case that would be 2%, at least 2,50€. Buying a bus ticket (example) that way you risk paying more than twice of the price....
I am over 70 and enjoyed riding Prague transit for free for seven days. I kept my passport handy but was only asked to see it once on the bus from the metro to the Aviation Museum. On my last metro ride to the airport to come home the inspectors had detailed someone who did not properly validate their ticket. They were pointing to the printing on the ticket but it was in the wrong location, so they probably had to pay the fine.
Great video but I have a question about what the easiest way from the train station to the city center is. This has always been the area I feel I am getting scammed. I wish you would make a video on that subject.
I'm British living in Prague at the moment, your story with the elderly lady offering the cup of tea reminded me of home :D yes someone is watching this 5 years later haha
Hola, excelentes todos tus videos, que estado viendo porque viajo próximamente a Praga. Me podrías explicar si con éstos tickets puedo viajar desde el centro de Praga hasta la estación central de trenes? De antemano, muchas gracias por tu respuesta.
Hi Janek, your videos are simply amazing and make first time travelers so much confidence and reassurance! Could you please discuss the details of the long term (30-day unlimited) pass? Can tourists apply for it using their ID like passport? Thank you!
Short and informative video as always. I have seen your video about Atm cash withdrawal where u advise " to decline Atm conversion charges" because our home bank conversion charges would be cheaper. Now when we buy a travel pass or ticket - do we get an option to decline conversion?and/or what is the currency conversion % used by the automated ticket machine in prague. Is it as high as 12% ??
I am curious - I enjoy collecting the plastic, reloadable metro cards. I really only use my local Ventra card in Chicago but cards I have from my trips like Hong Kong or Mexico City have cool designs and are a nice, sturdy souvenir. I think in time these will be phased out as apps become more widespread so I am trying to go out of the way to collect them, even if it is not cost effective. I have seen the plastic version of the Litaćka cards in Google image search, but they often have a photo of the cardholder on the back, I am assuming this system requires a permanent Czech address or would otherwise only be available to locals / students or something like this. Does Litaćka offer any sort of plastic card?
I'm late to the party but will be this Sunday in Old Town for a few hours. Can anyone give me an address in Old Town where I could park for free or cheap? It is five of us including three small children, and for that I appreciate all the help.
Wow your still have to buy tickets!! That is so old why do they not implement tap on tap off system, i am sorry but i am find it hard to believe it is the 2nd best
