In this video you mentioned that you are the holder of an A&P Jamie. Did this affect any of your purchases or did it have no bearing in your decisions? I ask since I also hold an A&P and am wondering how it could affect me as I would be a first time aircraft buyer. Thanks for this great series!

I would like to echo Jamie's words concerning the panel. I thought I'd be saving money by trading the low cost of the plane for the cost of a panel. Now, avionics are certainly coming down in price as more manufacturers are popping up. But the cost of installations is on the rise. So worth it to pay the upfront cost for an avionics suite already installed. The clouds in Texas tend to sit at the 3,000' to 8,000' and having an aircraft certified for IFR flights would offer more options to me as an aircraft owner. This is my one regret....

Great info. But for todays market ,not many discount for cash.And, use of a reliable escrow co is a must. Make sure they show payouts out a d to who on the settlement sheet, and demand a lien release letter from any lender or entitiy that has a lien on the plane.Do not accept any bs on this. Spending ten minutes can keep a buyer from spending 10 grand, on a lawyer, due to liens not paid properly. Dont buy the bs story “ oh we filed it w the faa. FAA doesnt care about lien issues. They just document what theyve been told, correct or incorrect. Enjoy!!
