Intro to the AR-15 Rifle at Rock River Arms Headquarters in Colona, Illinois. In this video we talk about terminology, the mechanics, how to disassemble and put back together and much more. Watch more videos at www.mentorquest.tv
I bought a Rock River stripped receiver at a gun show and put the AR together over a period of a year as I gathered funds for the pieces. The rifle fires flawlessly and is accurate. I am now looking to get an upper that fires 7.62 x 39 as I have 1000 rds of the stuff and it's a good excuse to buy more toys. :)
Contrary to Lonewolf remarks below, Steve Mayer is VERY MUCH ALIVE and well, and can be reached at Rock River Arms. I am traveling with him next week. Absolutely a great guy with decades of knowledge and ACCURATE information. It was Mark Larson, a founder, who has passed on. We have processed over a quarter of a million barrels cryogenically with Rock River over the last decade and they continue to be the best client to work with in our 48 year history. Bar none. The rifles are consistently sub sub MOA for a reason. SOLID ENGINEERING. A decade of improvements BEYOND MILSPEC. Truly stunning reliability....exceeding any other platform we know of.
I did that and actually got my catalog within a week. I really liked looking at and studying the details on the RRA Piston Driven System....I am seriously considering getting one.
What a nice video! This would be awesome for introducing the AR especially to someone curious about the components of this rifle. All the best RRA! I'm an owner of the products!
Very informative Sir thanks and keep up the good work .How sweet I saw another one of your posts"AR platform which takes the AK magazines...... 7.62x39 rounds, sweet maan !
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us about the AR 15. Actually, I am NOT a fan of the AR platform nor will I ever be. My question to you is, Can the Ruger mini 14 (.223/ 5.56) caliber substitute for an AR 15? I am specifically inquiring about the overall use of the rifle for an emergency situation, going out to the range, durability and reliability for a long ..long time. I am not interested in making my rifle SEXY looking , i.e. add all the extra bells and whistles like a lot of you tubers do. SIMPLY put, I would like your objective feedback regarding the HARDWARE of the Ruger MINI 14 vs the Ruger 556 (AR 15) , as an example. Thanks
I really enjoyed your informative presentation can you do one on the 6.5 LAR-8 Creedmore showing break in and cleaning tips and scope recommendations? I just purchased this rifle and it will be shipped out in the next couple of weeks. Thank You!!!
Rock River needs to get a better media presence social ect. in the gun arena. You see cool vids from springfield, ruger ect. get on it boys, most of its free to do.
I take it that Rock River Arms is very busy at the moment? I ordered an upper and I guess the wait is going to be a long one? I got a response last week and the wait is 6 months.
I'm convinced you don't have the first clue about the AR platform based on that statement. RRA is an economy brand, lower tier AR that is equal to the likes of Bushmaster, DPMS, Delton.........junk!
to my friend paPeR I below....tell ya what. you bring whatever you want to my range, LWRC, Daniel Defense, anything YOU think is top drawer. I'll put shoot you at whatever distance you care to Shoot, with my RRA any day any time. People like you who trash talk what they don't know are mindless trolls. Reply not needed. Hec, you probably don't even own an AR.
old thread , but I had a dpms lower on a rock river upper , thing was deadly accurate. really didn't like steel but put brass in it it and she would run all day and night
I have a Predator/Pursuit w/20" barrel. It has the standard free float full length hand guard on it. NO matter what I do, I am un able to unscrew and remove the hand guard, what am I doing wrong..... I've used all my strength try to remove it, can you help me.... Thanks.........
If RRA would build their AR's to proper specs, you would not have any issues finding a rail that fits. RRA is upper bottom tier, not built to spec., not built with proper materials, shortcut assembled AR. Ditch that thing and get yourself a Colt BCM, or Daniel Defense, you won't have any issues because those companies build to spec. per the TDP.
Easy, you don't! Buying a gun from these traitors you should take a hard look at where you stand in the fight for gun rights especially those in Illinois who it will hurt not just buyers but so many stores going out of business when the bill passes.
9 years late lol but how does he not “know his stuff” everything he showed was done perfectly. The only thing he didn’t show was taking all the parts off of the bolt for cleaning. Aside from that he did perfect. This specific ar is finicky as hell to get all the parts back In. it’s reliable as hell but takes some practice of taking it apart don’t expect to do it in 40 seconds dude did just fine.
