@insus100
I own an A6 C5 from 1998 2.4 (same as 2.8 but more seen in Europe), no quattro no nothing, cheap to maintain, doesn't break but if it does parts are cheap. I'd love to have an allroad but with the diesel engine they sold here in Europe.

I got a leak I’m chasing that’s messing with my windows/electric. Car runs great just don’t have windows and features like hazard lights and interior lights. Water pooling in the backseat I originally thought it was the comfort control module in the front passenger seat. Chasing that problem but other than that the car is a beast! Love using it for camping

I also have a 2003 Audi Allroad Quattro 2.7T but with the Automatic transmission. When I bought it 5 years ago it already had the suspension replaced with springs because the air ride system is unreliable. I'm 62 and I owned new vehicles and mostly used vehicles. One thing I can say is no matter what you buy, it will cost you to maintain it. So if you are worried about purchasing anything, fear not because like my stepfather always said, if it has T!T$ or Tires it going to give you problems. As stated I'm getting up in age and I don't like the prices of new vehicles so I will continue to put money into this car because I like it that much and by maintaining it I think it will last me for ever. I just replaced the timing belt and waterpump which was expensive but that should buy me at least another 100K Miles. Currently have almost 172,000 miles on this car. You mentioned about 3 different times about something blowing up, you even pointed the camera at something. I didn't understand what it was you were talking about, Please spell it out for me. BTW with the engine you said that broke the timing belt, didn't that finish the engine right then and there? Thanks for your time and happy motoring.

Great cars that are very fun to drive! Not so easy or cheap to maintain but it’s a great car for what it is! Bottom line is when you buy those cars you have to be willing to work on it yourself. If you’re paying a shop to work on it at full retail markup then it will get out of hand very fast!

I just bought one but it was a 2.7tt swap it’s auto but doing a manual swap

Bouta buy an 04 allroad. Current owner swapped air for coil overs and just did a full timing belt service at 98k. It has 113k. Wants 4k for it. Good deal imo.
@JoeyKayMusicAndVids
Got an 04 A6 quattro s-line 2.7tt auto for $1,500 w 200k.. about a year ago
@jahmeenlopez3226
Just got one today for 1K 🎉. First timer. Lets see what it brings

No... My 2005 allroad does not sound like R2D2 upon startup... But I was fortunate to find/buy mine 6 years ago @ 85K miles from a sole owner who was OCD on maintenance to the point where if the soft touch controls would be scratched up, she would take it back to Hoffman's ( Hartford CT ) & have the offending controls replaced.. This previous owner ordered it with complete full options, I received each & every invoice from the day she drove it new from the dealership. Today I'm @ 256K miles... I'm fastidious on maintenance & this allroad has broken down on the road 3 times. Once my fault, I pushed the clicking front outer CV joint to the max & it snapped making a slow speed right hand turn.. @ 240K the fuel pump died.. Last early spring the tiptronic went into limp mode, after draining the trans, pulling the pan, replacing the filter, refilling & clearing the codes, it returned into limp mode 40 miles down the road. It was the transmission range sensor.. If you like me have XS-power 3" downpipes you cannot get to the trans mount upper bolt to remove the mount & access the 2 torx bolts holding the range sensor in place... That done 3,000 miles since, all good... Mods are currently simple. Q7 BBK, XS-Power DPs into 2.5 stainless flow thru exhaust system ( no mid resonators). Stage I.. Soon to be Stage 3, RS6 turbos, 2.8 heads, higher output injectors, MAF, bipipes, RS6 capacity SMIC's....etc...etc... Plan to eventually build new motor to reach 700+hp.. with B8 DSG or techtronic from RS4 or RS5.... Currently @ 320hp... Interior currently being upgraded to B6 S4 Recaro seats....... These allroads are reliable but having worked on cars since childhood is definitely a plus or else one needs very fat wallets..... Cheers.

Got to keep eye on oil levels they love oil
@kamata93
Nowadays these are pretty cheap to fix, at least on the Balkans. Rebuilding the airbag on the suspension is 150-200 euro with 1 year warranty. So if you want a nice car with decent offroad capabilities and dont care if you scratch it or something, the first gen of Allroad and XC70 are perfect options.
@Mattmazz77
Audi's are the greatest unless you by an older 1 that hasn't been taken care of and you don't know how to work on cars yourself or someone close to you. Yeah the tiptronics are prone to break but the manuals are prone to needing clutches
