Went to Istanbul last year, didn’t do any research on the public transit. And yet, it was fairly intuitive. Very smart, modern city. I’d happily go back anytime.
Thank you, easy to follow and understand. The metro system is basically the same as thr London underground. Nowadays people use their debit card to scan in on the bus, trains but you can buy the pass for £5 and then top it up as needed. We are planning to go the Istanbul, so this will differently come in handy to know and use. Thanks👍
When I was in Istanbul ❤ in February 2024, the card limit was ~1750 Turkish lira. The yellow terminal also printed a receipt with information about the remaining card limit.
Between the metro, metro buses, and whatever other forms transport are covered by this card, can you get around the whole city? If I buy this one card while I stay 4-5 days in Istanbul, will 200-300 lira suffice? Also, how did you get from the Airport to the city center?
We are in turkey currently in Beyoğlu area, can you pls tell me where I can buy it from? And can you give me guide how to tell which transport to take and where to and from etc
Impressive, you have explained the card-attainment process very clearly in a very simple way. Would you please share your experience about hotels, I mean how can tourists book reasonable family-friendly hotels at a cheap rate?
Was waiting for it eagerly your video has helped me plan for turkey trip. I am traveling with my older parents first week of February. Do you have any additional details that might be beneficial.
We have an ultimate travel guide coming next week, it will explain all the modes of public transportation and the map. I’m sure it will be very useful to you
Still have my Istanbul card from 2022 which we also used in May 2024. I have, however, had trouble getting an Izmir card! There are none at the Metro stations or Tobacco, Magazines or Convenience Stores😬
Hi. Love your content! Is it possible to do a metro guide? Within the actual metro stations or tram lines because I have been to Istanbul but what I noticed is the directions of which way the tram or metro is going can be confusing. Thanks :)
It’s coming this Saturday - ‘The ultimate public transportation guide’. The confusing problem you described is one of the topics we cover in the video :)
Thank you so much for this great video!! My only question is - if you share the card with someone, does that mean that you can both travel together at the same time?
Good information👍 i have a question..for 6 people One instabul card is not enough so we need 2 card right? And for 5 days how much money aproximately do i put in the card?and the Blue mosque Is free to visit? Thank you🤗
Very good, thanks! A question if I just arrive SAW (Sabiha Gökçen) airport without lira, can I buy Istanbul Kart using a credit card? Or I have to get Lira to buy Istanbul Kart at SAW (Sabiha Gökçen) airport?
Thank you for your help, I have a trip soon to Istanbul and I want to ask how to share one İstanbul kart with my friend. Should I pass it two consecutive times so both can enter the gate or should I pass it one time and the kart will allow up to five people to enter through the gate
The link above shows (unlimited pass + Bosphorus Tour and Museum). Where can I find information on which museums are included? Since your video mentioned the unlimited transport information, could you please tell me where I can buy the pass that includes museums?
Bro,, please do an updated video taxis, BiTaksi and Uber. That would be really helpful also. Or, if you can comment back and let us know the best way to take a taxi if public transportation isn't an option.
Hello, thanks for the video, great explanations!! I have a question though. I am travelling to Istanbul soon and I have a an Istanbulkart I bought in March 2013. Will it still work? (is the one with the sunset picture) thanks again!
Hey, it probably won’t work as now unregistered cards have a 1 year expiration date. Stay tuned for the ultimate public transportation guide video this weekend :)
How do I get the discount/refund by tapping on the machines when i exit the stations. Everytime I tap the machine it goes red ? I use to get the discount last year but now I do not get it
on the point of sharing the card with 5 people, how does that work exactly? for example, I'm travelling with my wife and 3 kids, do we buy one card and scan it once when taking a bus/metro? or do I have to scan it 5 times to pay for each person?
So it's no good for tourists ????? ( it explains why i wasn't able to get mine to work when i went to Istanbul two years ago ), even though it was promoted as such by various videos at the time. When i purchased mine, i wasn't able to get it to work. I went online and something was said about " registering and passport " details; so didn't bother. I just walked everywhere. I still have the card, though.
Hello Sir. Can i have a discount of Istanbulkart with my Epass? You think i can buy them both upon my arrival in Istanbul at the Bus Station coming from Athens? Pls. help.
And how 10 pass ticket work? Can same 10 Pass ticket be used on metro, tram, bus, ferry and Marmaray? And can one 10 Pass ticket be used for more people?
@IstanbulHacks oh sorry, I mean 1 note..we called it bill though 😅 Let's say I want to top up 20, 50 and 100 notes. Because most of the videos I watched they only showed topping up with only 1 note
Hi, very informative video with valuable information, I will be travelling to Istanbul in August with my wife, do I need to buy just 1 card and is enough for both of us? and what is the process if one card is enough for both? I mean do we need to swipe for first person to enter the booth ? and after the first person enters through the ticket booth then should I return the pass to the 2nd person for him to enter through the booth?? I shall be very grateful for your help 😊
