Thank you very much for your detailed explanation. As I am new to UK, it is very nice to see your video to teach me how to do it. By the way, your English is nice to hear. I can hear almost every word. Thank you again.
getting ready to post my first piece of mail and I wasn’t sure how to print and send it off on my own without the ‘normal’ small stamps! this was so helpful, thank you :)))
Mate, I’m young, never used or posted mail. The only time I’ve cared about parcels is when I’ve ordered something from Amazon. Thank you for creating this video. I had no idea where to even begin with sending a letter.
I couldn't agree more. I'm almost 19 and about to start sending products off from my shop this year and had absolutely no clue what to do, specifically for if there was any requirements for buying sticky labels to print the label off with etc. Thank you so much for this video (if he sees the comment) :) - Saved video!
best vid ever and i am still not sure about any of it, one of my ebay buyers was shocked with my packaging. i used duck tape instead of glue! top tip - use glue!
Thank you!! so so much for making this 😊 I was not sure what to do how it all worked. Very good video perfect. Straight to the point. I was nervous about printing the postage but now I'm definitely 100% sure what to do now. Thanks again 😊
@@DADDELIVERS it was really a great help.🙏🏽. I send seeds to our friends regularly, last months I bought fake stand 😣. Terrible experience. I am so happy that Today postman collected them from my home free. It was so easy 🥰
Was the stamp you got from the printer at the end one of those sticker ones or just from a normal peice of A4? I know some people use label printers but I wasn’t sure if you could use a regular one
Hi Jamie thanks for the kind question - I just use plain A4 because I'm not sure I could get the sticker to line up... it takes longer but I put tape over it all to make it waterproof. Hope this helps!
A good clear video. I have just posted 3 parcel via post and the questions like, whats in the parcel and how much is it worth. This seems like a better idea online. Thanks.
Thanks for the kind comment Simon - Yes! Since making this video the option to get them to collect is really obvious now and you can choose a time slot. Or you can choose a time and delete that option if you still want to take it in and don't want to wait in for the visit... good luck with your posting!
This is out of date, needs re-doing Dad. PO website now starts with a choice of they collect from home or you drop it off, but defaults to collect from home even if you choose drop off as I did (it's crazy). I got no label to print, lost my money and ended up going to the PO and buying a stamp. Then next day a postman came to collect the parcel! He agreed the website is BS and said lots of people are caught out.
Thanks for this. I was hoping to be able to just buy printable stamps online, buy clearly that's not possible. I can't go through that process for every Christmas card...(In France you can buy printable stamps, which is much simpler and quicker, as there's no need to put in any information, just the denomination of stamp that you want)
hi, where can I get the packaging to send the goods? Can I show the barcode at the post office and they will print it out and stick it on themselves, or do I have to do this myself?
Hi I am just wondering if you can get the label printed out for you at the post showing the label on the phone screen Im just asking because I don't have a printer many thanks very helpful video 😊?
Thanks for this really informative video. What software did you use to record and edit your video, please? I downloaded OBS but it sucks-may need to invest in a quality software to start with.
Hi Hercules03 Thanks for the kind message I now edit with Final Cut Pro, but it's the same method as the free imovie which I moved to with a second hand macbook. I'm a PC person but I find it so much easier to edit with a mac On PC I used to use Hitfilm Express which is free and perfect for me I never found a more basic edit software which I liked but would love to have found something more simple like a PC equivalent of imovie Hope this helps
How do you change the template, so you can print more than 1 label at a time - the Royal Mail instructions tell you how to do it, but its clearly for a different system - as the settings template I can't find.
Omg thank you ever so much for this tutorial.. I have one question do I need to to get this barcode scanned from post office?? I was told I have to get scanned ??
Thanks for the kind question - I think it depends on which postage you have bought. You'd need to have it scanned if you need proof of posting for the tracked deliveries or insurance for compensation, but I have just put my labels into a post box and they have still been tracked and delivered. Hope this helps
Great video - what if you need a proof of posting? Take it to the post office & they do it free? Can you tape ( using clear tape) the label onto the parcel or packet? Tape it completely onto the parcel or packet? I would print onto plain A4 paper as using sticky labels is fiddly & expensive. Thanks
HI Gareth Thanks for the very kind comment and yes to all your questions! Hand it over the counter and they give you a proof of posting for free -- and... pre-buying online is a little cheaper than the counter prices! And taping the A4 printout is exactly how I put my 'labels' on - naturally try to avoid getting a tape crease over the QR code but its worked for me every time and if it doesnt they can fix it for you because all the details are on the label I've found the proof of posting even has a reference you can put into the royal mail online tracking to see if it delivered Hope this helps and good luck!
Hi, Can you help??? I tried to print out purchased postage from the Royal Mail Click & Drop service, using an A4 sheet of 4 sticky labels, but it won't print out. I am using a bog standard HP Deskjet Printer and it is attached via a usb to my Toshiba laptop. I cannot find an option for labels in print preferences and the label will not print out at all. I am flummaxed, I don't know what I am doing wrong. My laptop does not have Microsoft Word, but would that matter? Would really appreciate any ideas on where I am going wrong. Thank you :)
Hi Lisa I am so sorry to hear this -- this is way beyond my knowledge, but are the labels PDFs? I'd thought they were PDF For me, if you don't have a PDF program, the PDF would be opened by a browser - your regular internet browser - you can right click on the file and choose "Open with" and choose the best program/app, like your browser. Then set the print preferences on the print dialog there... But other than that, hope you manage to find a fix. I'm still printing on plain paper, and cutting and pasting with Pritt Stick so sorry I'm not the best person to ask - good luck!
Sorry to hear this - if it's any help, I think you can buy online, and then take it into the post office to print out the label - think the Royal Mail site shows where this can be done - sorry I cant be of more help
The labels are stupidly too big. Tried printing smaller to fit on a A5 elvelope and postoffice ignored it and charged the recipients a quid ! Rang the post office clip and draop help line and they said everything was correct but some sorting offices ignore them.
Thanks for the kind message Dave and so sorry to hear this. You're right, the labels are stupidly massive, but didnt think that shrinking them would make them unusable. Really appreciate the info.
If you have a parcel, can you hand in the 'stamped' parcel at the Post office, or do you have to bring it to the nearest Royal Mail sorting office. I know it's cheaper doing it this way, but the sorting office is about 4 miles from home, but the economics wouldn't really work.
Hi, thanks for the kind question. I take mine to my Post Office counter - but I've heard that some counters might not do this, which is frustrating. I go to the post office to get a proof of posting receipt, but you can just put the parcel into a regular post slot if it fits, or I believe there are new options to have Royal Mail pick it up from your door, which I've not tried yet. Hope this helps and thanks again
@@DADDELIVERS Thank you for your reply. I'll ask at my local post office today. It was just that I sold an item on ebay the other day and made a mistake with the postage ... that's what kicked my brain into action.
@@brianmorrison9168 Ah yes, thanks - I've been in that situation. What I prefer about handing over the counter getting the proof of postage, which I've turned out needing! Good luck
Not sure I’ll get a reply due to the age of the video however, I’m going to be using the tracked 48 service prepaid online. Can I drop these off to the parcel boxes?
Hiya Thanks for the kind question - I've found that you can drop them into post boxes, the only difference is that you dont get proof of posting receipt but I could still track it using the reference number you're given when buying and the confirmation email receipt Hope this helps!
Great video. Only problems is the labels are to big, i did using a pc chop up the label and remade it and sent to myself. It went through the system without a glitch. the post office are just not interested in making a template for letters, so the service is virtually useless to anyone who wants to send a letter.
Hi Alan - thanks for the kind comment, yes they're huge! That's amazing that a resized one works! I don't know why it has to be so big when the address on it is so small... I am amazed by how much in the postal system doesnt look at it from the user experience... anyway thanks again
How big are they? On a PC with a printer you can make them as large or as small as you like. I have no idea how big they are supposed to be so I print mine at about A6 size.
Hello mate I have one of these prepaid labels from ebay as I need to return an item, I don't have a printer though. Can I screenshot the label onto my phone and take it to my post office? Will they print it off for me?
Hi Чингисхан - Thanks for the kind question -- I'm not very up on how ebay works and just had a look at their help article, I would definitely take it to a Post Office or Delivery Office to see if they can print. You have to use it within 24 hours, but you can cancel and get a refund within 14 days. Go to My eBay > Sell > Postage labels > [the postage label you would like a refund for] > Actions > Void If the Post Office doesnt print, cancel the payment and the help article says you can take the parcel to a Packlink location to get it printed. Here are the steps they advise: Go to Sold in My eBay or Seller Hub, select the item and then select Print postage label. Select eBay Delivery powered by Packlink, and login. Choose your preferred delivery service by selecting View all services. Select a package size and a dispatch method. You can choose to drop your item off at a participating outlet most convenient for you, or have it collected. If you'd like to have your item collected, select Collection, your preferred courier and the date you'd like the item to be picked up. Review the summary of the details you selected including preferred delivery service, total cost and terms and conditions (T&Cs) then select Confirm and pay. Select Print label. Package the item safely and make sure the label is clearly visible, then take it to the drop off outlet you selected earlier, or prepare it for collection. When you print a label you'll be charged for it, whether it's used or not. However you can cancel unused labels within 15 days. Tip If you don't have access to a printer, you can select Print in store for FREE under Additional services. You'll then receive a 6 digit code by email which you can use to print your label in Store. ---- Hope this helps, I'll put the links in the next comment reply because I don't know if RU-vid blocks comments with links - good luck!
Here are the help article links, hope you can see these in case you've not seen them: www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/posting-items/labels-packaging-tips/buying-printing-postage-labels?id=4157 And www.ebay.co.uk/sellercentre/postage/buy-print-postage
Hi Lucinda Thanks for the kind question and sorry its taken so long to reply - yes, I think you can show the QR code they send you, and there might be more info on the website link - good luck!
Hi Khawar - thanks for the kind question - I have this problem sometimes, and I just wrap the label round so it's curved and showing on more than one side... hope you managed to get it posted!
Thank you I'm about to purchase a label printer for selling on eBay as I to am sick of explaining what's in my package so annoying and it's cheaper online
@@DADDELIVERS I now don't need to go the post office I just use the parcel drop of post box and anything bigger I just Hermes collection service life just got easier and postage is cheaper so I can bring it down on eBay super happy now My motto in life Work smarter not harder
I tried 5 times to buy a 48hr tracked label today and can't get past the stupid "c arrange collection" bit. I just want the bloody label so I can take the parcel to the PO. Piece of crap website
@@DADDELIVERS It _defaults_ to collection from home, even if you choose drop-off. When did you last use this yourself? because it has changed quite a bit from when you recorded this video.
Hello munchie machine - you just stick that label on - fold it round if your letters too small but make sure the square QR code is all showing Hope this helps
Thanks for your helpful video! It is really clear👏just printed a label at home and threw it into the post box😁but do you have any idea where I can get a tracking number? Thanks 🙏
Hi - sorry for a late reply -- I think you might have to hand it over the counter in a post office (the printed at home label is slightly cheaper postage) and they give you a receipt with a number. You could the reference number that comes on the email as a tracking number Hope this helps, and thanks again for the kind comment!
Hi ! I posted just like this through Royal Mail, but I chose the collection option and the postman collected my package and went. But I’m unable to find my tracking reference 😭.. it says it should be in the label but I can’t find me .. please help me : A helpless student 😭😭
Hi Carly! Thanks for the kind question - yes, you can do tracked 48. And it's your email and number so that they can email the details to you so you have a record of the purchase... Hope this helps and good luck!
Hi thanks for the kind question: For me, signed for still works if you put it into a postbox not a counter, but handing it over the counter means you get proof of posting The upside is that its a little bit cheaper postage than buying it at the counter. Hope that makes sense and good luck!
Hi Paige I think you can take them to a Post Office or delivery office, or there are Parcels boxes - I think the locations are on the Royal Mail link in the description: you can put in your postcode to see the nearest places. Hope this helps!
Do they email you a qr code aswell and if you don't have a printer you can take your item and the qr code to the post office and they print it for you?
Hi Im so sorry I've not replied sooner - yes - completely, if you buy online, they can print it for you - they can also give you proof of posting - hope this helps!
