Daniel it is great to hear you laughing and making jokes. Different take on your personality. Light hearted yet very intellectual. Great video. Really enjoyed it.
Interesting story my grandfather was born in 1898 and when I became a coin collector in the 1980s he gave me some rolls of 1950s and they're all from when he got them from the bank at face value he had the most awesome coin collection couldn't believe he had gold coins from circulation that went to my aunt
Congrats on 40K! I'm a bullion guy who's new to coins and your channel. Listening to you guys is like sitting in the most interesting class I've ever taken. Thank you!
Wow the two of you together, a real wealth of information and talking about a subject rarely have I seen on this subject. I can say I know for a fact that banks have caught on and they are not for the most part happy about it. They feel as if their time is being wasted and they can be servicing customers with actual bank business, that was the actual words from a clerk I met. The tellers boss just wants the lines to move smoothly and quickly, and a roll or silver hunter gums up the works at times. Congratulations on making it to 40000 subs Daniel.
Don't forget many husbands have wife that work at the bank and they cherry-pick a lot of stuff my wife work for HSBC years ago and I got so much good stuff
There's actually a bank in my town that has a coin counter/rolling machine. The bank was originally called by another name than its current name. I know my grandfather was on the first board of directors. Thanks for another video. I really enjoyed this one. Also, I got the two silvertowne bars and 2x2 cardboard flips I ordered from you in today. I have a few finds I will be using them. On the topic of unsearched rolls on ebay, there are a "few" legitimate sellers, but not many. One person I bought off recently just sells stuff to benefit charities. The rolls I've gotten from them so far have some really nice coins in them. I was definitely able to upgrade a lot of coins in my albums. I may call your shop at some point to see if you have any rolls.
Ok so I've always wondered on the single squeeze and how they are getting the doubling that has been found. What you are talking about with the die "falling" / "popping" into place makes perfect sense and why it would look like two squeezes with the split serrifs. Love the info thanks
A friend of my mom's, her husband passed and we were helping sort thru some things he had been interested in. He had been saving pennies for years, mostly just buying rolls from the bank, and alot he had sorted by year into rolls. Out of all of them, the only ones that appear to be original rolls were 6 from 1974 which I'm saving just because it happened to be my birth year. I don't think there is anything worth opening the rolls over though if I'm right. The other rolls I saved were 20 rolls he made of 1970s's because someday I want to see if any are small date, and I figure with that many examples to look thru it might be easier for me to figure out the difference between small and regular.
I was confused about the Eisenhower and Roosevelt thing myself. I am a beginner but its been 6 months and thanks to you gentlemen 🚹 I am beginning to get it.
Thanks, Daniel. I like to see streaming, now and then on your channel. Congrats on 40K! Not sure about other parts of the country, but in S. Cal., Armored Car companies do just about all the Coin Roll Wrapping for delivery to Banks and Businesses. Don't know any Bank that wraps its own rolls around here, anymore.
The best information channel is your channel no one can top you you just tell it how it is there's no real benefit for you to not say anything different and I will be watching and learning from you thank you for all your help
33:00 Coin OPP - I think you're right. I'm seeing split serifs on coins that are clearly getting stuck in the feeder ( or something.) I have a roll of Salt River's that are off center and I see the split serifs on both sides. I think I have an example that might be relevant to the scenario you're talking about.
Daniel. Dont worry you will have over 100,000 soon. When you make such honest videos shows you are a honest person. Honest people are always honest . There are just built that way it is not a choice, it is just who they are. It is what they dont have that makes them unchangeable in there honesty. They lack greed , selfishness, envy, jealousy, arrogance, or the need to be praised. They strive to be the person that they would want to be friends with or do business with. And in the coin business there are both ends of the spectrum. I am that kind of honest person I want my friends to be like. You are that kind of person I would be friends with. I can trust you to tell me the truth even if it hurt because your that honest . My coin dealer at Rare coin Is that honest. You are the channel I go to first to get my information. Your to the point, indepth details with out the useless jabber jabber. I am sure that all that subscribe to you do not unsubscribe. I guess I can not praise or thank you enough for who you are. I wish you were in my area near Portland, Vancouver Washington area. And again because of who you are , your channel will soar.
Hi Daniel & Robert, I follow you both for your knowledge and caring for the coin Community. Yes, I have fell for buying rolls only to find many coins with no mint Mark's or the same common dates. I now don't trust buying any rolls of coins any longer as I see too many loose ends that are fake crimped. If you can help steer me in the right direction of where to buy real unsearched rolls so I may purchase some I would really appreciate it. Thanks guys for the informative videos. Earlene from RI
I went to the bank yesterday and asked if they had any half dollar rolls they had one it looked old but it looked like a bankroll I got home and opened it up and they were all 1967th I was in 😲
Texas has no banks that have the sorting machines. When I lived in Minnesota I had no problems bringing in a jug of coins. (Before my coin collecting days).
I have a 500 box of BU 2005D westward journey American Bison coins .20 rolls of 25ea ..in original mint wrappers the are uncirculated and UN searched .should I sell as a whole unit or sell the rolls separately?
Back when my work let us order halves and dollars in our weekly change order, I was ordering 100 dollars in dollar coins for a friend, and when they arrived, all 4 rolls had "John Quincy Adams" printed on the side, along with the company I guess rolled them, which I now know from your video they rolls alot of coins, NF String. I saved them cus I figured it might be worth it eventually, would those count as original rolls?
Do you guys know how to see individual coins in a sealed bag, with your own eyes, without opening the bag in any way, and without damaging the bag in any way? I figured out how to do that, and even photograph a coin in the bag. I have no idea whether it's a trick dealers know, or whether I figured something out that nobody else has bothered figuring out and doing. What motivated me? Pennies switched from copper to zinc while my sister was a bank teller. At my suggestion, she got permission to buy 3 mint sealed bags at face value during the weeks before the zinc ones got released. One each for herself, me, and our dad. I ended up with all 3 of them over time, being the only one of us into coins. Maybe 10 years ago I sold 2 of them on eBay to a guy who was pretty happy to get them. I have one left, no particular plans to sell it. Being curious, I didn't want to sell them without being able to be sure they weren't a date with reason to search, and the markings on the bags didn't make it clear to me as to what they were. It turned out they were neither the expected 1982, nor a date worth searching.
One time in prison in Kentucky my bunkie said I could use his toothpaste if I needed to, well a few weeks ago by and I needed to use it and he so happened to be out of the cell at the time. When he returned he knew someone had messed with his toothpaste because it had "a funny squeeze on it." 😭😭😭😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Just got back online. Missed your live video. I have a couple of 1964-1965 quarters. The 1964 quarter is silver. Look on the edges, no Cooper. Is it worth anything?
Hello….. I have a quick and random question for you. I have an original bank wrapped roll of 1964D Roosevelt silver dimes. I cannot decide on whether it would be better for me to sell the role unopened and unsearched as is…..or if it would be better to go ahead and open the role to search for varieties. If you look on PCGS the 1964D Roosevelt dime has an unbelievable 8 PCGS recognized varieties….which makes this role awfully tempting to break open. Not only are there a lot of varieties, but all of them seem to be very valuable at the mint state level…..and this is what makes my decision difficult. May I ask what your advice would be? I really would appreciate it. By the way, I am still relatively new within the coin collecting hobby…..and I have learned so much from your channel…..and I really do appreciate your content. Lol I’m not saying this to kiss your butt at all….I’m just being honest. This is also why I’m coming to you with this question. I value your insight and that’s the truth. Thank you very much and have a great rest of your weekend.! 🙂💪🏼👍🏼
Thank you for your kind words but no one can answer that question for you, no one can know your roll’s odds to make such a decision. It’s like asking a financial advisor if you should go to the casino with a $100 bill you found on the ground.
@@CoinHELPu You are very welcome…. and thank you for the response. I know that ultimately if I decided to search the roll there could be absolutely no varieties at all. So if I did search it hoping to find some it would be a total gamble….and I agree. However, throwing all odds out the window would you sell it or enjoy taking the opportunity to search it? I understand that our financial positions may be different from one another, and I understand that both of us may have a completely different risk tolerance, but from someone who is knowledgeable about coins….and appreciates coins…..and also profits from coins when certain errors or varieties are acquired…..I’m just curious what you would do. Thanks again.! -Dave
I learned a lot from you picture this I have a quarter looks just like an Oreo cookie or a dime in between two quarters weights 4.8 it has the grooved all around it even in the groove looks just like a dime in between a quarter cut in half still has the rim.groove all the way around on the dime and quarter you get it

With the prices for silver, I quit buying 999 bullion and started buying BU Choice US coins. Mainly Peace and Morgan dollars that are fresh out of someone’s safe or storage. I’ve found that the best dates and condition are now being offered for sale or at least I’m finding more of exceptional coins than ever. I also try to buy uncirculated Mercury dimes, Washington Quarters and Walking Liberty and Franklin halves. I’ve tried to get them in rolls, but only a few met my expectations, so I obtain them one at a time or cherry picking. If you know of anyone that wants to sell actual bankrolls of anything silver, please inform.. Great video.
I work at a C-store that is part of a casino. Casino is closed now so we went to a bank for change. I saw a roll of nickels old wrapped. I ended up with 64-d, 67, 69-d, 70-d, 71-d 75-d BU rolls. Dimes 70-d, 74-d. BU. No BU silver. Collection dump. Someone passed and they just took it to the bank. Will that happen when I pass? Happy hunting. Great video.
One question - Do you think it is worth getting say the S Uncirculated (not proof) National Parks Quarters say one of them offered for 2020 and the last one for 2021? I know the S Uncirculated has a low mintage for uncirculated finish but it is a coin NOT released for public consumption but for coin collectors directly from the US Mint.
A guy posted a video here on RU-vid opening a $1200 roll of Morgan's. The ender was of course a CC. It was wrapped in a old Carson City Bank wrap that was made to look really old with a 1914 stamped on it. Obviously it wasn't original and the guy got ripped off bigtime. 1 common date CC worth $200 and the rest were common date sliders. Ouch!
I got an Alaska state quarter with the doubled die where the claw on the bear has a extra claw I found in my change. On the obverse side the "In God We Trust" and the D has most likely a die chip in it as its doubled with extra metal not a machine stamp. Real neat.
hI Daniel I have a cuestion for You in reference to paper money .I have 3 one hundred bills whith printing errors that needed to be berified or appraisal, and I needed Your help to tellme wath to do Illbe happy for Your answer. thankyou Daniel . Rafael Ponce
All armored Transportation divisions roll and process all coins, the banks do not deal with coins whatsoever unless its in a box . But again all this vary by States and by branches since early 2000s
N.F. string boxes of Pennies and selling for gosh way more then seller that say they get from their banks you can tell the difference the box is different and the rolls, I have bought boxes from different sellers and lots where baloney re crimp with just shipping tape a real bank box had the teller stamp if it just has shipping tape the web site on the box sells everything to roll coins

My grandfather in 1930 bought a roll of 1909s vdb cents for 300.00 at his watch shop in a little town of victoria Texas. , I saw this roll in 1972, it had writing on it, there was also a rock of quartz and gold , and a boy scout multi-tool spoon fork . The three combined were too fat to fit in my bluesman pocket as a 14 year old kid.
