**UPDATE -- HOW TO REGISTER FOR A LAWSON TICKET ACCOUNT IF YOU DON'T LIVE IN JAPAN**
This is only one way I found that works so far, and thanks to a comment from a viewer I was able to confirm this -- thanks S AU! (づ ᴗ _ᴗ)づ♡:
After choosing a Japanese hotel to stay at when planning your trip, you can use their address and phone number to register an account. No parties (like Ghibli Park or Lawson) will check if this is your real address.
When you go to pick up your tickets at the conbini (Lawson or Ministop), you will have to go to a Loppi machine and enter your ticket's registration number (found in the confirmation email) and phone number (the one you registered to the account, meaning using the hotel's number will work!). Once both those things are confirmed, a receipt like paper will come out of the machine. You take that paper to the register, they'll scan it -- and then you can pick up your tickets. If you chose to receive your tickets electronically -- none of this will have to be confirmed. But I believe they will check your name at the Ghibli Park gates to confirm that it's you (they have a similar process at the Ghibli museum).
Until next time, またね〜

3.5 hours in & we have some tickets for May 😊 couldn’t have done it without your video. Had to use the Japanese site as international one kept going back to ticket page but no option to buy 🤦🏽‍♀️ one thing to note, might have just been us, but when picking the area we clicked on the blue box which jumps you down the page to pick the month & then ticket options. We did this for the combined warehouse/whispers but ended up only buying warehouse as it took us to that only & in a panic to purchase didn’t read it all correctly! So double check what area you’re buying for & don’t panic like we did (as you can go back to change it) 😅 thank you again

I got into the international portal (on my phone) within 15 mins and had the same issue of it restarting for me/not allowing me to “check” the box but kept my place. But then it rejected my queue and had to start over lol Waited another 1-2 hours and thankfully scored tix on desktop, which was easier to navigate. Im sad that only the Warehouse is open for foreigners at this time though. Thank you for the informative videos - can’t wait to visit.

Thank you so much for sharing this video. I used it as guide to buy for our tickets for our June visit. We got tickets for all sections. Yehey. 🎉🎉 I just want to share, when buying tickets, use a desktop/laptop. It won’t work on the phone. It will let you in on the website but when purchasing already, it will not proceed and will just redirect you to the homepage, I think. Max tickets you can buy per account is just 6. I need to buy 7 tickets but it did not allow me. Good thing, I asked my cousin to create her own account so she was able to queue also when I told her I can’t buy for her. Thanks for sharing this info also here so we were able to prepare for it, and she created her account. Again, thank you so much for this video, I will be able to make my kids’ wish of going to Ghibli Park come true. I am one happy mommy

Hi all! I got into the ghibli park today with no issues through the domestic tickets. It was relatively easy picking up the tickets at Lawson with the QR/barcode provided per mail, I didn't have to input my name in japanese characters/numbers in the machine. When entering the park zones, the staff doesn't check your name nor your ID. Good luck everyone!
@jamesng6332

Hi, so when you pick up the tickets at Lawson, all you need to do is scan the QR code and input your name is English right?
@emilyvandewalle3591
@emilyvandewalle3591 Год назад
@@jamesng6332 For the pick up in Lawson, I generated the QR code via the link provided under this title of the e-mail "≪Loppi専用コード 表示・操作方法≫". Note that this might be a temporary QR code that expires after x amount of minutes. The instructions of the link say to input your name but I didn't have to. I believe you only need to input your name via the alternative pick up method of the Loppi machine, which would be not via qr code but with manually inputting your reservation number / name / telephone number. If you would need to input your name, it would be in Japanese characters though as the machine has no English option and during registration you could only use Japanese characters. If you have mobile data and use Google Translate/Lens, it should be straightforward to navigate. QR is definitely the easier method though. Good luck!

I actually had bought the Ghibli's Grand Warehouse ticket for July earlier this month (April) from its English / international ticketing website before knowing your videos. It seems the tickets for the Grand warehouse only starts from 12pm on the English website. Only after watching your video, did I realize that I didn't have the tickets to enter the other 2 sections - Youth Hill and Donoko Forest. Do you know as a foreigner visitor can I get their tickets from the international website or do I need to get to the Japanese website to buy them? Thanks so much again.

However, I forgot about the shinkansen schedule and booked too early ticket (I booked ticket at 9am but I think the earliest time I can be there is at 9.15 using jr pass). From what I read on the website, I can't be late to enter the park, right? So should I buy a new ticket or can I still enter the hill of youth a bit late but before the next entry schedule? From what I read there is a line to enter the park and I think not all people could enter the park at exactly 9am

Thank you very much for the video!❤It is so informative and the tips help me out a lot when planning a trip for later this year. I have been looking at different guides for this and some information leaves me unsure of the best method to purchase tickets and I was wondering if you might have some insight on a few other questions to help clarify. - When you translate your name into Katakana, did you have any issues with the staff verifying the ticket that had your name in Katakana against your passport (which I assume was not in Katakana)? Was there any issue since the passport name was in Roman alphabet vs the ticket in Katakana? - I've read on some reddit guides people recommend a VPN when using the Ghibli Park site but I am unsure if that is really necessary. Have you ever had an issue purchasing tickets in the US without use of a VPN? -Last question, someone mentioned that foreign credit cards outside of Japan were not accepted when purchasing Ghibli Park tickets via the Japanese site. I did not find more comments or mentionings of this to really support it, although I wanted to ask if you came across that as well? Thank you again!
@evilo
@evilo Год назад
Hi! Thanks for the kind words and for watching. Great questions! Let me get right into it: 1. I did not have any issues with the Katakana on my tickets because no staff at Ghibli Park checked my ID (or anyone's ID to be honest). Recently, there was an update on the Ghibli website for tickets sold to foreigners though saying that they'd be checking ID for those sales (not sure why). But again, it wasn't a big deal. The staff just looked at the number of tickets I had, checked to see how many people I brought with me, and they let us in. 2. I used a VPN the first time I bought tickets and the second time I bought tickets I turned it off. From this experience, I don't think it matters. What does matter (as I kinda mentioned in my video), is how long you stay on the waiting page. Again, not a tech whiz--but I opened that page at around 12 PM the first time and there was already a countdown going (like 10+ hours or so). When the website starts letting people in, I think this is where how long you've been on that page matters. I have no proof of that though! Just my opinion based on what placement I got in line. 3. Great great question that I unfortunately don't have the answer to. I have a Japanese credit card so I used it both times. BUT! A lot of people in the comments of this video have told me they got tickets based on my video, and I feel there's been a good mix of people from all different places so I'm leaning towards a "maybe you don't need a Japanese card!" answer. Again, hope this helps!

Hello, great, organized and INFORMATIVE vid!! Def the best info on RU-vid, but one question I have yet to find answered is: what are the major differences between Ghibli Museum and this new Park? PS: My wife's priority is Totoro and anything super cute, kawaii 😆.
@evilo
@evilo Год назад
Hi! Thanks for the kind words and for watching my video! Also, great question! I've been to both locations several times now so I feel really confident in helping you out with this. :) Big difference between Ghibli Park and the Museum are the interactive experiences you can have. However, there are a lot of similar things you can do at both locations. For example, there is a special Ghibli movie theatre at both locations that shows short films made especially for the Ghibli Museum (the same films play at the Park). There is also a café that has similar food at both places. And the merchandise they sell at both shops is about the same, but of course there are certain items that are only sold at the Museum as well as the Park. But back to the big difference. At Ghibli Park there are interactive locations you can enter (like the Whisper of the Heart house or Totoro house) that make you feel like you've entered into a Ghibli movie, but at the museum it is more dedicated to how Ghibli films are made (they even have a whole room that you can learn about animation history). The museum is also much smaller. It's all housed in a single 4-story building. That being said, if you weren't able to buy Ghibli Park tickets for April (they went on sale in January) then I'm sorry to say but it's probably impossible to get tickets. BUT! Ghibli museum tickets are much easier to get and they go on sale one month in advance (so May tickets will not go on sale until April--you have time!). Personally, I think the Museum is wonderful! I talked about this more in my "5 Ghibli Park Secrets" video if you need more information. I've been several times and found it to be really fun and relaxing because it's connected to a large, beautiful park just outside of Tokyo. If your wife's priority is Totoro, then I recommend you also swing by the Donguri store when you get into Japan (lots of cute Totoro things there for her to find!). Hope this helps!

Hi! Thank you so much for your kind words about my video -- and I've been checking on this for weeks and thanks to your comment can now confirm it works. (so thank you so much for commenting!) Using your hotel address and phone number is totally fine! When you pick up your tickets, at the conbini (Lawson or Ministop) you will have to go to a Loppi machine and enter your ticket's registration number and phone number registered to your account (meaning using the hotel's number will work!). Once both those things are confirmed, a receipt like paper will come out of the machine. You take that paper to the register, they'll scan it -- and then you can pick up your tickets. Hope this helps! (And I'll be sure to put this in the video's description as well)

When picking up physical tickets at the loopi machine, I have been told that I will need to input my name at the machine and that's the name get printed on the paper ticket (It's different from the name that's setup the Boo woo account). Some has suggested to input the exact name shown on passport so that it's easy to verified at the park. However, some people has mentioned that the loopi has only Katakana for input. Can you confirm 1. if loopi will ask for name input and 2. if loopi has English keyboard? 2. When selecting e ticket option, I believe it's the QR code link that get sent to a phone number registered in the boo woo account. Do you know if there is any app to open this QR code link in Japan or if these QR code link can forwarded to other people to open using their phone? thank you so much for your help.

While entering my reservation information, I was asked for a Japanese mobile number, and I entered a fake number. After completing the reservation, I was asked to authenticate the number to access the tickets. Is there a solution to this problem?

If you might have suggestions on how to register as Im running into problems in the verification stage because it asks for name in Kanji and also a local address *which I can put my hotel in and the phone as well) but the biggest hurdle has been to do my birthdate which doesn't seem to be accepted no matter what I do. I would love to figure this out. before the 9th but it looks like it might not be in the cards for me. The video you did is fantastic, just twish I could get it to work on my end.

Hey there! Let me just say that your voice is so incredibly calming and for some reason really made me feel better about this, even though I can tell it’s quite a stressful process! 😭 would you possibly be able to shed some light on the new international ticket sales? My husband and I are going late June to early July, and we want to be able to see all parts of the Ghibli park. Currently it’s only available for the Ghibli warehouse, which is another problem entirely. However, if you could explain the new international ticketing process, and what you need, that would be excellent. I read on Reddit that you need a passport number and my passports haven’t arrived yet. However, if I’m doing my calculations correctly, I need to buy tickets for June by next month. Can you please clarify anything I may be missing about this process, and any other helpful tips? This is an extremely daunting task for me. This is our first (and possibly only) trip to Japan and I love Ghibli with all of my heart ❤ it’s my main reason for visiting Japan, and I need to secure these tickets (and tickets for museum) before I can book a plane flight. Otherwise, I may have to postpone my trip to summer 2024 (not ideal) please let me know any helpful tips you can provide, and thank you so much for the help and kindness you’ve already given us, I can’t express the gratitude I feel for you. ❤thank you again! ❤ (p.s. happy to be a new subscriber! 😊)

Hi Bree! Thank you so much for your kind words and questions! I'm glad my voice was able to help you feel calm in some way because it is quite a strenuous process to go through (even for Japanese speaking people). I'm still looking into the international sales of tickets (since it's a recent update). I also am having a hard time understanding why they'd only sell the Warehouse ticket and not the other two... kind off-putting in a business sense, don't you think? I promise I'll update my channel with the new information I find though! I will probably won't make a big video update on ticket sales until March because of my work schedule, BUT, here's my advice for you and your husband if you still want to go in June or July. Assuming they don't update the foreign sale ticket process to include all the sections by April (which is when you'd need to buy tickets for June), I would buy your tickets through the Japanese site like I showed in my video. This is something I'm planning to talk more about in my video this month, but they did not check my name or ID when I went to Ghibli Park. I know on the new English page it says you need to show all these different forms of ID, but I believe if you buy tickets through the Japanese site that they don't check this. I'll be going to the park one more time this month to confirm, but this is my recommendation if you want to see all of them. If the process does become too much though and you're worried, I REALLY REALLY recommend tickets to the Ghibli museum instead. Personally, I enjoyed that much more than Ghibli Park. It's a bit easier to get tickets for that as well since it's been open for so long. Hope this helps!

My heart is set on visiting both, and I’ll definitely be doing my best to secure tickets! I really appreciate all you are doing to help those who want to visit Japan and the Ghibli park. Your hard work doesn’t go unnoticed or unappreciated! I will definitely be keeping my eye out for new uploads (getting ready to watch most recent one now) and I appreciate your response. It definitely makes me feel at ease to know that it is possible to book on the Japanese website, though. I’m hoping they will be able to open all areas for international sales soon, however. Fingers crossed! 🤞 THANK YOU AGAIN! ❤❤❤❤❤

I read the FAQ on their website which states that "The person whose name is on the tickets may be required to present ID upon entry." Does it mean they can enter as long the ticket has their name and they are able to prove that they are holders of the ticket with their passport? Thank you and hope to hear from you soon!

Hello! Thank you for your kind words. Great question, unfortunately I can't give you a clear answer. Although it does say that on the Ghibli Park website, I've gone three times and was never asked to present my ID with my ticket. From my personal experience, I would say that you do not have to go with your friends to present your ID. However, regulations may become more strict as more foreign tourists are let in to the Park. I think this is a great question to send to Ghibli Park though and would encourage you to do so! Sorry my advice couldn't be more helpful, but good luck with your tickets!

Hi there! Just another question for you. I’m doing some more planning and I’m trying to figure out how the Ghibli park tickets work still…. So are you only able to order one set of tickets for a particular area at a time? Meaning, I have to make separate purchases if I want to go to different areas on the same day or separate days? Just confirming. Thank you for all of the help!!!!
@evilo
@evilo Год назад
Hi! The answer to your question is yes, you are only allowed to buy one set of tickets at a time. That's why it's been hard for people to get all three sections in one day because some areas sell out much faster than others. My advice, buy the warehouse ticket first because that goes the fastest! Totoro's house and the Hill of Youth always have openings towards the end of the day and the locations are small so they take less than 30 minutes or so to get through. Hope this helps and good luck!

Wow this is the most informative video!! Thank you so much for a detailed instruction❤and tips on each steps and translation…But i wonder why buying ticket has to be so complicated. They (Ghibli park) should make it simple, easier, less complicated for foreigner. Like no website in Eng😢 And like there is the separate ticket for each zone😮 and limited time, like need to plan to walk to be at next zone on time. (Its Sound stressful. You know you go to park to relax, but this you need to keep up with time 😅) I plan to go in Feb. I didnt know that I need to reserve ticket online 3months. I just found your video. I wish I have seen this sooner😢 i am too late now. But you mention there is some part for no ticket? Can you tell me more about it? Is the -no ticket zone worth going?
@evilo
@evilo Год назад
Hi! Thanks so much for your kind words and for watching my video. I feel similar--hopefully the process will be smoothed out by (at least) next year once all the locations are open. You can absolutely still go to the park without a ticket! There are non Ghibli locations that you can still enter (I talked about one in my recent Ghibli Park secrets video). However there isn't a whole lot you can do at the moment. There's a spirited away zen type area you can walk through on the way to Mei's house from Totoro, and the park is huge so walking around it is very beautiful and relaxing. Also, although you can't go inside the locations, you can still see the Whisper of the Heart home and Totoro's house very clearly from outside the gated area. There's also some benches scattered around the park with tiny Ghibli statues. That's about it though. It's not much--but if you think these things are worth seeing, then you might have fun going. Hope this helps!

Hi! Thanks for watching my video. I'm glad to hear it helped you in your process of thinking to buy tickets. GREAT QUESTION! I'm going to talk more about this in my video this month, but they do not check your ID at Ghibli Park so I think you'll be ok! However, I saw they updated ticket sales for international customers this month and it had a whole section about passport numbers and showing ID at the park. I'm still looking into this (it's a bit confusing and off-putting since they don't ask this of Japanese customers), and I'm going to the park once more this month so we'll see if they check me this time with the new changes. Once I have all this info confirmed, I'll be sure to put it in a new video! About picking up your tickets, you have until the end of the day that you chose to visit to pick them up. For example, if you bought a ticket in November to visit Ghibli Park on January 29th @ 4PM, you would have until January 29th @ 11:59 PM to pick it up. This is different from paying for it! Like I said in my video, you only about 3 days to pay for the ticket or it gets released. But you have a lot of time to pick it up. Thank you again for watching, and hope these answers help!

Hi Daniel, thanks for the kind words and for watching my video! Sorry to hear about that glitch you were experiencing! (づ ᴗ _ᴗ)づ♡: After choosing a Japanese hotel to stay at when planning your trip, you can use their address and phone number to register an account.

Hi. I was able to register successfully. If i buy tickets, is it a requirement to use paper option to be claimed in lawsons? Or is it okay to choose email option? Thank you so much
@evilo
@evilo Год назад
Hi! It is not a requirement to pick the physical ticket option and pick them up at the counter. Email is an easy choice for those traveling to Japan. I always pick physical tickets because I like to scrapbook them, it's all a matter of preference! Hope this helps.

@@evilo thanks. Have you tried the email option? I read in the comments that it will require a Japanese mobile number to get a verification code. And from the comments shared here by other viewers, I observed that they always choose the physical ticket also so I am leaning towards the physical ticket now, though email option is really convenient. I tried it before with Ghibli musuem and just choose email option and I did not have any problems. Thank you again for sharing this video and answering my questions

I am having such a tough time. I am doing the account information registration and it keeps telling me to pick the right gender and birthdate which is correct. My name is not being accepted. Can you help?
@evilo
@evilo Год назад
I'm not sure if I can help with that, but did you try writing your name with the Japanese alphabet? (It'd probably have to be in Hiragana or Katakana) If you're having a hard time translating the page -- I suggest using a Google Chrome browser. They have a really good translation extension. Hope you'll be able to resolve these issues soon!

No matter what I do to register in the Japanese website to purchase the other areas I'm unable too.. date of birth gets stuck at the verification portion. Thankfully I was able to get the international sale for the warehouse! but if you have any tips to book the other areas please help! When creating an account I get stuck after verifying the email it requires to add addresses and ETC but the birth date is not working for me :(

I had this same problem. DO NOT translate the site, just keep it in Japanese on your computer and use Google Translate on your phone. Then the other boxes will open up, and you will be able to put your full birth date. I hope this helps you, fellow Ghibli fan! Please let me know if this works!

Do they care about the name? is it ok for me to create an fake easy Kanji name so it will be easier to input kanakata at lawson.?
@evilo

Always use Katakana! Usually Kanji doesn't work for foreign guests.

Hi! Thanks so much for watching. Unfortunately there is no way you can get tickets BUT the park is open to everyone so you can still go! Like I mentioned in my video, you just won't be able to access those three buildings -- but there are plenty of other things to do and see at the park. I'm making a vlog about this later this month, so if you check back you'll be able to see the "no ticket" options/places you can explore. Hope this will help with your planning!

Hi I will go to my first travel to Japan in May with my family of four. I live in Chile and the international experience of buying tickets here is awful, I only read bad experiences and disappointments. I love Ghibli and the fact that I might not be able to visit the park worries me a lot. So ¿there is a chance that you can help me buying tickets and I pay you a sort of comission by paypal or something?, please think about it because my country doesn't have any agency that makes this type of purchase. If you can't anyway thanks for the video and your time.
@evilo
@evilo Год назад
Hello! Thank you for watching my video. Unfortunately, I don't do any kind of ticket services for other people, but I hope that you'll be able to get tickets and go to Ghibli Park in the future! Tickets for May go on sale February 10th (Japan time), so you may want to consider trying your luck to get them. If things don't work out, I really recommend buying tickets for the Ghibli Museum. It's a wonderful place and is much easier to get tickets for. Good luck!
