Thanks for the 1 hour therapy session. 😅 I bought my first car (WagonR) in 2015. I didn't even know how to drive a car, so during the test drive it was sales consultant who drove the car and I was sitting on the passenger seat. I knew nothing about the cars or engines. I just like the dashboard and practicality of wagonr, decided to book it. Its been 9 + years now, still going great. Clocked around 70k kms. Bought Honda City last year, still using WagonR as secondary car for local commutes. Although I didn't do much research, I could relate to everything discussed in this video. Love you @motorinc

On the discussion on safety, I bought my first car in 2019 after becoming a CA - The Tata Nexon. In 2021, we (5 people all family) were coming back from Shirdi to Mumbai and we were on the Ahmednagar Kalyan road which is a two lane road with no dividers in between and we were travelling between 70-80kph in our lane..A Bolero pick up truck doing approx the same speed came in to our lane and crashed into us because the driver dozed off while driving it seems..Our entire right side of the car was smashed but nothing inside the cabin…My Maama ji who was driving the car was able to get out of the car on his own and no one in our car was severely injured…You may say that car which gives control to the driver should be prioritised over passive safety but there are situations where the driver is just helpless if he is in a situation like this and you need a car with good passive safety to atleast give a chance of survival. Our family always recommends Tata’s products now just because the Indian market is an oligopoly, No two cars in the same segment are priced far apart so it is the manufacturers choice where he wants to allocate his cost and I would chose a car with better safety even though fit and finish is not up to the mark today

Funny, because back when I became a CS I bought my first car and have a similar story as well. I need a big car because of my height (6'6") so I bought a XUV500. Similarly I had a crash and only survived due to the build quality of the car. Years later I have a XUV700. Now I only consider Mahindra and Tata in cars. Recently I got a Tata Punch EV for the city, love it.

Being an avid rider and driver for over 15 years now, most of my friend’s have reached out to me to help them out buying their first car or first bike, the one thing I have noticed is that is the biggest constraint for them is the budget. Everyone isn’t able to stretch that 1-2 Lakhs and for them it is huge money specially considering that 1-2 Lakhs money you can end up putting huge amount of petrol over the years. Second thing I have seen is, most of them already have their eyes set on a particular vehicle based on their budget and they just need a sort of validation from us to give them confidence on the choice they are about to make. Over the years I’ve seen manufacturers coming up with great cars. And I’ve been telling people to go for a test drive and see which car or bike they connect with the most. Engine, transmission, comfort/suspension, safety features for me come as the top 3/4 things that I always prefer and comes the shiny stuff in terms of connected car tech and other features etc. This was a great video and is definitely something I will be referring to my friends moving ahead. Waiting for it to be available for all on RU-vid before I can share it in my WhatsApp groups.

I bought a petrol hatchback because I looked at my use case and that looked best. Primarily long drives with a bunch of luggage, plus me needing as much performance and not liking CNG due to queues, gas scent etc. Also with simple petrol engine, less of a chance of things breaking - as I prize reliability and don't like service center visits. 4 years and almost 50000km later, I am a happy guy. Of course I have spent a good amount of money in petrol, but thankfully my raises have been decent enough for me to afford that.

One of my friend worked in sales for car dealerships and he mentioned that you could receive discounts from the dealership if you buy a previous year’s model in the new year. There might not be highly customizable options available for it but if you buy the model as is, you could get some pretty good discounts for taking it off their hands. - When we bought our first car in 2019, we did this. Got a 2018 model from Maruti which coincidentally happened to be in the exact spec we wanted and the showroom gave us a 10% discount! It’s one of my core strategies now. I will always keep an eye out on previous year’s models if they have them and bargain a good discount. - For a first time car buyer, the options and frills aren’t that critical so if someone is willing to make some adjustments, you could find some pretty sweet deals which make the purchase that much more worthwhile.

@Abhisek_03 4 месяца назад
@@vinayv9445 Hey Vinay, as u heard safety comes in parts: 1. Active & 2. Passive... U can't control the passive one cause it's from manufacturing side, but what u can control is 1st one, so try to as confident as possible, cause NCAP or anything tests all the vehicle withing a given range of speed which goes up to 64 kmph, and as u said it's average 90 in ur case, so if in any situation something wrong happens with you then definitely those ratings is not gonna save you from the impact, but confidence in ACTIVE safety and ofcourse if the basics on the car is ticked off, survival chance increases by a lot... Does that mean, we shouldn't depend on the rankings definitely not, The rankings are there to provide a general idea about how that car is made to protect you in initial stages, so yeah consider them as your understanding of the product but not a super deciding factor. I hope this answers your doubt...

I resonate with this video, I went for TAIGUN 1.0MT Highline , driven 35000km till now, fully satisfied. Driven my Fluidic Verna diesel for 2,00,000km now it is my secondary car. still love it due to its diesel engine. My priorities were 1. Solid built quality and safety 2. Solid engine which should provide whenever demanded. engine should not be dull, i was finding a versatile engine which can provide good fuel efficiency whenever driven sensibly, and it should give good power whenever you rev it. 3. Solid stiff suspension which gives huge confidence on high speeds 4. Good break bite and confidence in breaking , which i missed on my previous car Verna Fludic 4. It shouldn't have rubbish features like ADAS but should have good infotainment , fog lamps , reverse camera , alloy wheels 5. I love manual so went for manual transmission 6. I do not follow herd mentality , highest selling car can not be your ideal car , one should consider car as per the needs. What I missed is Cruise control

Nuisance on the roads 2.) the uncle gang with splendors ,platina extreme mileage bikes . No moderation , lot of taxes on two wheelers , scarcity of good options in the middle . Bikes here are more utilitarian then for fun Wish taxes on two wheelers were not so exorbitant and we get kore options and more brands that are present in most cities .

1. Thoroughly enjoyed the video as someone who went through this process recently . Felt like a special treat on sunday morning immediately after a 100km pleasure drive on wonderful Hyderabad ORR on sunday morning in my new honda Elevate CVT 2. Please make shorts for 1) heart vs brain & emotional part 2) engine responsive part of video. Wanna share with someone. 3. Disagree with your view on the importance of passive safety. I know you probably won't change your mind, but still putting a couple of arguments ahead, a) When you crash, you won't crash at 120kmph but you will try and brake, then crash at ~60-80 may be. A vehicle with a better crash test rating will likely give you a better chance of survival. b) We are humans, so we will make mistakes, other people on roads make mistakes. So having better passive safety does play a role. 4. My list of priorities when I bought in that order, are, a. Reliability and ease of ownership b. Design and build quality (interior & exterior in that order) c. Passive safety d. creature comforts e.Performance

As a owner of 1.5 NA from Verna, test drive was fine but yeah after some time i thought i needed just a little bit more, and then i handed that car to my dad with around 40yrs of experience 😂, and he drove how i wanted that car to perform. Catch was that me as relatively new driver who learned from a Diesel engine switched gears under 2k rpm resulting in smooth jerkless shiftes with great mileage 17-18 in city, but my dad shifted all gears atleast 10-20kmph above the recommended speeds and around 2.2k rpm and stayed there and this same dull NA engine was flying off. Not that i didn't know how to drive in same fashion but i was so used to low end torque of duster at 1750rpm that it was just not clicking for me. Once i learned how to build power in a NA engine without worrying about jerky shifts or mileage, oh my god this thing felt so amazing to drive. I don't always drive spirituality like that because traffic wouldn't allow me but if i wanted, now i know how to get the satisfactory power out of it and I'm very happy with that "dull engine" because it can do both for me, mileage and thrill. Of course this is not as same as turbo but again, extra 2 lakhs on exshowroom and 2-3extra on loan and that black interior 🤢 not worth the money. Also i got the top model with ventilation on front seats and it has been a game changer!! And fun part the heated seats can be used in summers here and it'll give you a very warm fuzzy feeling and your aching back will thank you 😂❤

I learnt riding and driving in my teens in the late 1990s. I started with bikes. My Suzuki Samurai made me understand the basics of how a vehicle works as a machine. And more importantly, how to conduct myself on the road - how to overtake, how to join a main road from a side lane and so on. Later I moved to learning how to drive a car. Your next podcast should be on how the car/bike reviewing has changed and the influence you have or don't on the manufacturers/consumers.. coz it's about time some manufacturers took INDIA seriously. Sometimes I feel INDIAN consumers r taken for granted by some manufacturers and if there is any way that you and us together can remind them about the potential that exists here.!! Bikes and cars !!

Exactly last year, I purchased my first vehicle, that too a car, grand i10 nios. An emotional decision (obviously), as my family never had a car till I purchased. The only sad part is I never took a test drive of it. I only watched reviews and compared with the Maruti cars. I feel now it turned out to be a great decision. I learned how to drive with it and it fits my needs. As Shumi said, now I do have a clarity with what could be my next purchase. Totally resonated with the discussion. If you can stretch for it, go ahead and buy the versatility. I do agree to that statement and did exactly that when I was deciding on my first car back in 2018. My budget was for i20 Asta diesel 1.4, 10.8🎉 something lakhs on road with extended warranty. Situation was If I pay 12.5 Lakhs (including some cash offers) I can get the verna ex, with the 1.6 Diesel. Yes, there was a phase for about 4-5 months where verna Diesel was only affered with 1.6. What was I missing compared to i20? Keyless entry, alloy wheels, projector headlights and a bigger screen for infotainment. Verna had all the basics covered, like seat height adjust, reverse camera (though feeding through a smaller screen) with adaptive guidelines, rear ac vents. So this almost 2 lakh rupee stretch made absolute sense and still does.

Loved the discussion about picking a car keeping in mind both safety and driving experience. My father and myself had the same discussion while we were thinking of whether to buy the seltos or the 1st gen Harrier when it came out. When I brought the discussion regarding the tata having 5 stars and seltos just managing to get 3 stars my dad said that he believes in active safety rather than what the crash tests show. And also the seltos gave us much better driving experience than the 1st gen Harrier. So we finally bought the seltos in 2020 November the 1.5 CVT variant. And it's been amazing till date

I wanted to buy the Ignis. But better-half wanted Baleno. Being first car and both of us being newly learned drivers, I was sure of scratches and dings to be added to the car. So finally we settled on a Celerio. Of course, both of us managed to rip off the front plastic bumper once each!! And every 6-months I evaluate the question that should I change cars thanks to Maruti's legendary metalwork.

This is a conversation about buying a first car. Here are the key points: * Don't be nervous, buying a car is easier than ever before. * Consider a smaller car (hatchback or sub-4 meter SUV) for a new driver as it will be easier to maneuver and park. * It's okay to stretch your budget a little bit to get a car with features you'll want in a few years, like more space or power. * Reliable brands like Maruti, Toyota, and Honda are good choices for first-time car buyers. * Consider your needs (how much will you drive? what will you be using the car for?) before you decide between petrol, diesel, or electric. * Do your research before you buy a car. Read reviews, watch videos, and take test drives. * When evaluating a car, consider how it makes you feel as much as the specs on paper. * Choose a car that is responsive and feels controllable. * Avoid a car with a dull engine, you may get tired of it quickly.

I made many mistakes while buying my firstcar. Here are some 1. Don't fall for EMI prices as final price. Calculate every single thing on a yearly expense including insurance, maintenance, fuel etc 2. While test driving, drive the route you frequent and test mileage. 3. Pick your fuel type on your real world usage. If you just drive to office 5 times a week, pick an EV. If you do long road trips frequently, then pick diesel. For petrol, if you can afford an hybrid, go for it since it's a balance of both worlds. 4. A new car depreciates 25-50% in the first 2-3 years. Keep that in mind while buying.

"What is the need and want?" This is the question I answered for myself when I was buying for the first time and it's what I suggest when people ask "What car should I buy?" For me, it was easier to answer because I had been driving the family car for 5 years. That experience gave me what I was comfortable spending on fuel and maintenance, and what I wanted from the driving experience. When helping new buyers, I walk through their considerations before narrowing down to the best options for them. One friend wanted a more spacious car as an upgrade from the Kwid but also something safe for the family they were planning for. Another just wanted prestige of owning a cool car. Both of these are different cars but they are right for them. That advice would not have worked interchangeably.

Basic stuff to look at for a first time car buyers are 1. Safety features like ABS, EBD, ESC, Traction control, 2 airbags should do. 2. Automatics are the best. Convenient to drive in city and you’ll be safer on highways. 3. Drive all options and decide which one makes you smile. Look at how is the visibility overall (A pillar, rear view visibility, etc…), how comfortable you’re in the seat. The features like rear parking camera and infotainment can be retrofit outside and they run as good as the OEMs. Don’t worry too much! The additional features like sunroof, automatic headlights, automatic wipers, wireless charging pad, fog lights, DRLs, connected tail lights or headlights are really not something you should look at. As you righty said, the peace of ownership should be the highest priority. Things like service costs, mileage, replacement parts, and how near is the service station matter a lot to me atleast. Good video! Keep vibing ❤

In new job, I have to travel 28 kms x2 (56 kms) per day in heavy traffic to my job. With increasing age, a driver will drive this and I will be sitting at back. My few requirements are 1. Comfort at back seat specially adjustable seats like those come with 7 seaters (but I don't need a 7 seater) 2. Decent mileage in heavy traffic ~14 !!! 3. Sedan or SUV (something like Toyota Camry but it's beyond me, my budget is up to 25+/- 2.5 lakhs 4. Not keen on diesel. Auto transmission is a must. The Ignis conundrum happened to our family as well - we considered that first as an alternate city car, had second thoughts about it (because grass looked greener elsewhere) and considered the Swift or Baleno (expensive for a compact car), S-Presso (too much of a drop), WagonR (had one before) and back to Ignis. Happy ending!

It was my first motorcycle and at the time of purchase I really loved how much easier to ride and sedated it seemed. 15k km what I love about this bike has changed completely. I love the agility and the fact that this engine can be kept at higher revs. I drive it more spiritedly than I do the meteor. Puts a smile to my face. It is a slow bike that can be driven fast, and that is a lot of fun.

00:35:47 - The unsaid thing to consider is also that every feature (frivolous or otherwise) that is added to the vehicle is money that wasn't spent in improving the engine, or the build, or the basic level of engineering while the vehicle is being developed. Sure, platforming approaches can offset this to a certain degree, but usually, a car which prioritises features over the essentials will feel it, and is almost certainly inferior over a long enough time frame IMO.

This helped me validate my perspective towards buying a new/used car. I think I have the right mindset. Thank you. Shumi only owns bikes. Considering my admiration for Shumi's perfect balance (IMO) between heart and mind. It's influencing me to choose a bike instead of a used car. It would have been easy for me to choose the bike if it weren't for my low tolerance for the summer heat and I don't want to get into my office all sweaty. I remember bits of last season of This Connect (or was it on PD) which had an episode emphasizing on summer riding, but it was mostly focused on the touring aspect and barely or none on the commuting one. Is there a solution, Mr. Marmar?

These guidelines are quite intriguing! However, when it comes to budgeting for their first car, many buyers overlook additional expenses such as insurance, RTO fees, running costs, and maintenance charges. Often, they solely focus on the ex-showroom price and assume they can afford it. However, there's a notable disparity between the ex-showroom price and the on-road price, which can further increase with financing. Therefore, it's crucial to consider all these factors to avoid any negative impact on your experience or financial situation.
@motorinc
@motorinc 4 месяца назад
True @neo4646 but we believe that most people are now aware that there will be two different prices for a vehicle. What most people seem to not account for are the running costs, which we've covered in Season 01.

This podcast is genuinely good. We have had many cars in our family for years, also I have been a sales consultant at NEXA thus telling from my experience 1. If you are buying an extended warranty don't even think of buying aftermarket electronic accessories like reverse parking camera. 2. Buying an extended warranty is a kinda contract where you are bound to service your vehicle at OEM workshops only, think over it. 3. Most of your needs can be met by a sedan, not everyone needs an suv, let alone the pseudo SUVs which are overgrown hatchbacks tbh. 4. I request the channel to make similar podcast for second time car buyers as well. Every car salesman is selling one line 'upgrade to suv' and people are falling for it.

Hi Shumi and Karthik.. I could completely resonate with your views.. when I bought my Jazz in 2015 it was my second car. I would like to add another dimension to the conversation which I applied in my decision making. Consider the 80:20 rule. Consider where do you drive 80% of your mileage and choose the car that makes you comfortable in the 80% situation. If you are in tier 2 towns where you drive a lot on bad roads and on no roads, a Bolero Neo fits the bill than a Baleno.. if you are an urban user and you drive 80% of annual mileage within the city then you would do well with a sub 4 Metre car than a large car considering narrow roads and ease of manaevouring. My Jazz worked out great in 100% of my use case considering the versatility in city and stability in highway. Been on more than 2000 km road trips and it's been a great companion. Of course I admired the first Gen Jazz in India and didn't think twice when the second Gen launched in 2015, emotional decision partly..

Lets say for me I would like to have -- Big screen with CarPlay / Auto (this helps me in creating a statement...(you know what I mean huh!) -- Sunroof...absolutely Yes -- Being a first time car buyer, I will not be confident in driving so things like Hill-assist, ABS, a stronger outer shell, rain-sensing screen wiper, defogger, tubeless tyres and I think most importantly anything that makes me feel I am in control while driving (this is what Kartik mentioned as well) Anyways, keep making such video serieses and more power to you both. Cut to 2021, when we were testing out budget cars, my wife had her heart set on the kwid (she loved the soft suspension) - it was all going according to her plan until we tested the blue ignis... after that drive and a lot of pleading later, we bought the car and its been the 2nd best decision I've ever made. I find Android auto/Apple carplay important. For navigation most of us are dependent on Google maps and if that can be within the infotainment, it's useful and safe. Second option is to use phone, mount it somewhere on dashboard, but it's inconvenient as well as phone heats up a lot by the sunlight coming from front. I own Ford Aspire with touchscreen infotainment but it doesn't support Android auto/carplay, that's something I badly miss in Pune as I need navigation not just to see direction but also to find the best route as per traffic conditions.

For the motorcycle culture convo: 1.) You only need riding when going on a "trip", on daily basis even if you have a decent helmet and gear use the 200 rs. helmet with fake ISI marking because who needs that in city, I'm so skilled at riding that my aura changes riding skill and driving skill of people around me too. 2.) If some one overtakes me even at 25-30 kmph, they want to race me, why else would they want to go faster than me. 3.) We don't need to indicate when we are changing lanes, we don't even need to indicate when we are turning. Have some Good pointers too: 1.) No bias on what kind of bike(unless it's one of those Yamaha scooter/bike thingy, I'll judge you) you are riding, once on a ride we make sure that everyone in the group has fun, no leaving anyone behind. 2.) Get experience bikes that i would not be able to afford or even be interested in.

As you said I want to purchase a vehicle for "Haat Saaf karna hai"... and planning to hold on to it for next 2 years or so. What should be a good pick, (3 Lakh budget) and what should be good place to buy i.e. (Spinny, Cardekho, True Value)??? Requesting all the Motorinc family to guide me on this...

As a New driver, on safety point of view: I know can take a Machine from point A to B smoothly and making sure I follow traffic rules. But I don’t believe others around me while driving would not hit me. So in that case I really want my car to be safest at first. Especially on Indian roads.

44:10 i think its a must since Google maps is most updated than any other Map providers, plus it's ability to "upgrade" solely relies on the phone you use rather than upgrade the infotainment (hardware) system itself. Plus music etc in already on your phone and makes it more interactive.

You were spot on with Phase 1 Mahindra suspension. Here's the story from 2016, we test drove Xuv 5OO and everyone loved it during the drive. On the other side was Crysta but we zeroed it since me and my cousin brother felt heavier to drive it than the 5OO. Oh boy it was slightly tragic as 5OO suspension was straight out bad for any family users. My father would just look at me through the IRVM and was able to clearly hear his deep silence " Told ya" whenever the car hit a pothole. Constantly moving around and thudding through all the road imperfections, bad sections and what not. But I LOVED the 5OO, such a badass machine and it grabbed everyone's attention as we drive by. But 2019 was when we bought Marazzo base trim as we just want to experience the car at first and not make the same mistake just like we did by choosing the 5OO's top end bcs when we sell depreciation will be through the roof. Now we traded away the 5OO for 7OO and Marazzo is still in the garage.

Your points are helpful for new buyers except after market fitting of reverse camera or infotainment system is. It will void the warranty of the car and insurance as well . That's the reason people pay a hefty amount for it .

Karthik doesn't know that I own Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Magna variant and I immediately bought the car just after watching the episode of that particular review of Hyundai Grand i10 Nios diesel vs Ford Figo Titanium diesel vs Maruti Suzuki Swift diesel and in that particular review you have asked the reviewer to do a proper thorough review of those three particular cars and for your kind information I love my car very much .

That discussion on Hyundai's 1.2l petrol engine took me back to our car buying time. Had the initial budget of 5-6L and took test drive of Tiago, altroz (7.5L for middle variant). Went to Hyundai showroom for the grand i10 and they offered a test drive on i20. The difference between Tata and Hyundai was the eye opener. Bought base model of i20 at 8L. And yes the lack on performance, but then in last 43 months and 25000kms, that car crossed 2.5k rpm- 100kmph only handful of times and 120 only once. She only sees 4k+ action when I visit home, and I too drive sedately. 98% running is in western ghats and 2 lane roads where the we feel performance is adequate. No niggles whatsoever, windshield washer pumps malfunctioned and they replaced it promptly. Happy ownership till date..

This is an amazing conversation, there should be a short notes version of this as well. One thing I wished had been explored in this discussion was the steering feel. A precise and well-weighted steering makes driving as a new driver or even as an experienced driver so much more enjoyable, easier, and safer. Suspension as noted, is always tricky - people often forget that suspension feel on the front seat and rear seat, and if there is a third, then there are all going to be different. So most of the cars in India below 20lakhs all have torsion-beam rear suspension. A well-tuned torsion beam will be all fine for the driver, will keep the car planted and all, but put 70+ parents or grandparents in the rear seat, and a "sporty" suspension (think Kia) will make things plenty uncomfortable for them. Subjectivity in selecting cars based on suspension not only comes from one's personal feel, but what works for family members you regularly haul. Also, if you have mostly bought a car for commuting and occasional highway journeys, plan accordingly. This was a great discussion as it allowed for more discussion to happen in our heads and aimed to make us a more informed buyer. Kudos!

My 1st Car Used 1.5 yr old pre-owned Ford Figo Petrol 1.2 So we have a Aspire at home that everyone loves to drive and sit into. When I moved to a new city, I felt the need of a car. I was not able to like any other car in my budget besides the Figo. Gem of an engine 95bhp (FE is bad though). But the steering feel and non floaty ness of the suspension is above all cars I test rode. Tiago - horrible NVH, very slow, good ride K10 - very small.. I am 6'2". I barely fit, steering doesn't center for whatever reason Grand i10 - very bad road feedback Brio - Peppy, but I couldn't fit to the seat and steering setup Ford Figo - everything I liked about Aspire but lighter, so feels Peppy enough.. For me. Can go 100 without a sweat. 120 is doable but engine starts to struggle when at full load. Excellent dynamics with loads of confidence even at 100kph. Great initial bite and sharp brakes. Ford exit, but service is brilliant. They offer extended warranty upto 7 years. Dont plan to resell. Maybe convert it to a rally car when I have boatloads of money. The UX is good, when you turn off the engine, cabin lights automatically come on. Car auto locks of key is not detected (feature missing in most of the cars I don't understand how hard it is) Can you guys do a podcast on the roads you enjoy/have enjoyed driving, riding on?

I've always felt the middle variants pack more than the top ones. When we bought our first car, a Baleno, the sales guy kept convincing us to buy thw Top variant for the connectivity features. We asked him to gives a list of features across the 3 variants only to know middle variant offered the features we wanted and liked at a much lower cost than the top. I've never used the Suzuki connectivity app ever. Android auto/Apple Play do a bulk of stuff we want. We saved the money but we went a little extra on coating engines and underbelly with rust coating lol.

Beautiful episode guys! Reminded me of the confusion I had when I was planning to buy my first car in 2013-14 period. I had just learnt driving and as the saying goes, "हाथ साफ करने के लिए" I was planning to buy a second hand car, and initially my plan was to buy either a second hand Ritz Diesel (loved the space inside and practicality as we had gone on a road trip from Hyderabad to Munnar and back) or a second hand Punto 90HP (I was a childhood Fiat fan from the Padmini days, I loved the design, which was beautiful and loved the relaxing feeling of that car during my long drives in that car with my boss or the couple of times I drove that after I got my license). Then reality hit me, I didn't have that much money as both of them went for 3.5-4 lacs and I had to lower my budget accordingly. Then I turned my gaze to some 10 year old cars, Fiat Palio in specific, for three reasons, childhood FIAT love, aforementioned "हाथ साफ करना" and the last was to drive it for a year or two to save up on money for the budget for my next car. Test drove a few as well but couldn't find one. Then in April, Tata Nano XT with the Power Steering launched and we did a test drive after the launch. This remained in my mind while I was TD'ing the other Palios. I was blessed with my son in August of 2014 and in September, after taking some financial help from my father, I went to a Tata Showroom and took a spot delivery of a Dazzling Blue Tata Nano XT (I wanted a Yellow but the color was discontinued, the next best was the blue as it came with Black interiors while all the others came with a beige interiors). Had that car for 4 years when I sold it in Sep-2018 after enjoying 45k KMs and doing multiple trips like Hyderabad-Bangalore, Hyderabad-Ramagundam, Bangalore-Coorg, Bangalore-Thiruvannamalai-Chidambaram-Cuddalore-Bangalore on it. Loved it to the core and felt that it was an under appreciated piece of Indian Engineering probably a result of the लखटकिया car tag which wasn't true because I bought it for Rs.2.37 lacs on road with 4 years AMC. The space inside surprised a lot of people and the AC was one of the best units I have experienced. My next car was a Ford Freestyle which was a heart decision as well because I wanted a Ford, but Ecosport was out of the reach but I loved the Freestyle (my Greyhound), now 62k kms! Could you plan an episode of under appreciated cars / bikes in Indian market?
