How to bypass your motorcycle immobiliser Meta 357
Ever had the need to hotwire the immobiliser on your motorcycle? Either way, watch this in case you fancy a gone in 60 seconds style hobby!
The Meta M3357 has a really crappy design flaw, a battery that once when dies totally prevents you from using your vehicle! What a pile of pants!! The bypassing procedure fortunately is really easy, thus proving how pointless this device is!

Another comment to thank you for this video. After many hours trying to fix my Suzuki vstrom I eventually turned my attention to the Meta and found your video. Probably the first place to start if your bike is old and stops priming the pump (and has a Meta fitted). In my case it produced error code C41 which has now gone. Thanks again, super video!

Super thanks for posting this video - I had just the same problem with the Meta Alarm on my Guzzi California. The bike went dead twice - once at home, another 30km away. Now my trust in this Meta alarm has all gone, its absolute shite. Following your guidance and that of other similar videos I have just fully removed this crappy alarm. All went well so thanks again for your help and to all others with similar videos

I've had the exact same alarm fitted to my bike (Kawasaki ZR7) since I got it 8 years ago but the alarm never worked. A couple of days ago on the way home from work the engine died and failed to respond to starting or bump starting, resulting in me getting towed home. This video helped me fix the problem, exact same pins to short 2 & 4 as well as the white ones. started first time and running like a dream :) cheer for the video.

Your bypass works as you have said white joined and points 2 and 4 on the other plug (Ps the bike is a Kawasaki ZRX1200S) i have just got the bike from a friend and he couldn't find the special card to set the fobs, and it hasn't been run for years, note it worked when stored..... but it lost out to time :-( ......once your bypass done bike started 2nd try) Again Thanks a lot.

It's such a shame that so many people are having to bodge the revival of their bikes CAUSED by the expensive immobilisation kit which they've installed. Excellent tutorial. I ended up cutting the wires behind the plug and splicing them together. When I peeled back the heat shrink some of them were spliced together. This could explain why you could get away with splicing different wires together (ie 3 & 5, etc) as the all effectively went to the same place. I also used a Dremel to cut the screws in between the connector block cover. This will allow me to reuse the cover with new screws (but I doubt I'll put it back on!) Bike fired up straight away with no issues.

Hi. Finally someone who knows what they're doing! The previous owner had fitted one of these pesky alarms to my bandit and it's now starting to play up and need to get rid of it. There is a bypass plug but at 30£ it's a ripoff and unfortunately I can't solder, unlike your good self😀. I was going to use paper clips but even taped up this doesn't seem a secure long term solution, allowing for bike vibration and corrosion.. so, I was wondering if you came up with a more robust design instead of solder? Iam an electrical numpty so any ideas from someone clued up would be much appreciated.! Thanks for the video. Cheers ant

@backofficeshow 5 лет назад
You might need to experiment a little, if I recall the small white plug is that starter circuit and the black plug with the bunch of pins isolates the various circuits. Try removing the wire from the black plug and see if you get the same result. If you do it means a different set need to be jumpered. If you have a multimeter you can check which pins on the meta connector are grounds, as jumpering to that will only cause something to go bang :) If I dig anything up Ill let you know, but I think with a little trial and error you will find it.

backofficeshow 4 years. I was only 24 and thought, a motorcycle is not good for my health. so I started to kite and had a accident with kiting. Broke my ankle.

Only the Alarm manufacturers marketing and the totally naive would think that thieves don't already know how to do this. It's not rocket science, just lack of basic engineering education in schools. Unless it's built in my the manufacturer it's always just going to be an issue of joining a couple of wires.

So I realise that you were doing this video with honourable intentions, however when you buy your new alarm, you have just shown some light fingered person of questionable parentage how defeat it with a junior hacksaw and a couple of bits of wire. I hope that you don't fall victim to a stolen motorcycle but if you do and the immobiliser didn't do it's job, I might know the reason why.

I think people who steal bikes are more likely to pick them up and shove them in a van then spend the time getting to the Alarm (whilst the siren is going) - even cutting the wires won't stop the alarm if the batteries are good.

And if they've got to the stage of havking away at your alarm system with a saw and a soldering iron, then the alarm was either ignored or not working properly anyway. Good riddance to mine, frankly...

Technically you could just add an alarmed wheel lock and fit secret kill switch where the immobiliser was and it would be just as good in stopping the casual thief. What do you think?
