How do you calculate atomic mass? You have to multiply the atomic weight of an atom (in amu, or atomic mass units) by the percent abundance expressed as a decimal. Then you add these together for all the isotopes of an atom.

you are wrong in the last problem the answer for the numbers you have given is 24.30 and not 24.31 you have not calculated the numbers you have used you are just telling out the answer because it is there in the periodic table.First you have to calculate your viewers are believing you and you can be one reason for losing the mark
@tdewitt451
@tdewitt451 6 лет назад
No sir, you are wrong. When the arithmetic is performed, the final answer is 24.3050789. The final answer should be rounded to 4 significant figures. There is a 0 in the hundredths place, that rounds up to 1 because there is a 5 to the right of it. 24.31 amu is the correct answer. Every time I do a calculation, I do it many times before to make sure that it is right. I would suggest that you do the same.
