You are beyond amazing! For two weeks I've been struggling with the calculation of dosage to be given, drip rates, and flow rates and it seemed the more I read the more confusing it all got. Came upon your channel by chance and so very glad I did. Followed your videos and believe now it all makes sense to me. A million thanks!

@ RN Kid Please upload more videos I really enjoy watching these dosage calc videos! You out of many people I watch is the easiest for me to understand. Can you please make more videos on gtts/min, how to find the time, and all the other fun stuff. My nursing instructor gave us some homework and its about calculating the unknown. I'm not sure yet but it sounds scary! Please post more content! Please! You're a great teacher!

Hello there. I know that this question of mine is not addressed in this video specifically, but I was hoping you can help me to understand this question on a study guide for my dosage calculation exam! Order: D5W 1,000 mL + 20 mEq KCl for 2 L to infuse in 10 hr. Drop factor: 15 gtt/mL (Determine gtt/min) I am not understanding what the TOTAL volume is (mL) is for this problem above. I understand that it is 1,000 mL of D5W with 20 mEq of Potassium Chloride being added to it but I have read somewhere that infusing vitamins and potassium into a primary bag does not affect the volume (not sure how true this is). So would this mean 1,000 mL is to infuse in 10 hr? Your videos have helped me a ton so far!

@@RNKidOh there you go! I got so busy with studying for Pharm ll. I figured out the answer but thank you so much for your reply. I watched your drops per minute video 2 days ago, and I learned so much!🙏🏿 However.... Here are othersI could use some help with: #1-The healthcare provider prescribed morphine 9mg IM every 4 hours for pain. Using the label below, how many ml will the LPN administer PER DOSE? label reads: 15 mg per mL The "per dose and 4hours" confuses me at times. #2 - The client is receiving 1000 ml of D5 1/2 NS at 75 mL/hr. How many ml will the client receive in 9 hrs? #3 - Gentamycin is ordered 40mg/kg/day in 2 divided doses. The child weighs 39.6 pounds. How many mgs. will the child receive PER DOSE? (RD answer to the nearest whole no.) The teacher tried to explain that that since #3 is PER DOSE, I have to divide the answer into 2... How come with #1, I don't have to divide the doses?
