Thanks David, It is indeed very helpful :) I have a query - How to formulate the regression equation ? In SPSS output, I have got a negative sign against constant and the Significance is > 0.05 should I include it in the regression equation? Also, which predictors should be part of regression equation? how to identify which X is impacting Y more or least in multiple regression output of SPSS.

Hi, appreciate for all the tutorial videos, they are amazing. I have some questions, what if I have several independent variables/predictors; then some of them have linear relationship with the dependent variable, and some of them have curvelinear relationships. In the end, am I able to create a prediction model by using multiple regression by combining these predictors?

@statisticsfun great video, really clear. Quick question, I ran the analyse with 4 independent varies and 1 dependent, interestingly 3 of my variables were in a seperate table 'Excluded Variables'. Is this likely a result of a 0.998 R Square between 1 of my independent variables and the dependent variables? Thanks

Hi, I really admire your explanation of things in such a simple way. However, I have a question: do you have any video executing and explaining PCA-MLR on environmental pollution data in SPSS? I can conduct PCA to find out pollutants emission sources qualitatively, however don't know how to run MLR on the output of PCA to estimate the %age of every source contributing those pollutants. Please let me know if you can run PCA-MLR on environmental data (probably I can provide the data).

@PuccaP22
@PuccaP22 4 года назад
I know this response is much later but to interpret your regression it is the difference in your dependent variable by one unit within your independent variable. So for one unit increase in the dependent variable (insert result from ExpB on regression table; make sure to insert whether it is negative or positive ) there is a predicted increase in the independent variable.

There are a variety of ways to do this. The easiest is to estimate the missing data value of 1997. You could take the average of 1996 and 1998 as an example. I did an internet search, "missing data regression" and found some interesting articles.

@statisticsfun
@statisticsfun 10 лет назад
That is an interesting question. The short answer is yes you can built a regression model with some independent variables linear and some curvilinear. I would encourage you to break up your data into smaller parts perhaps 4 parts (25% of your observations in each data set). Now you could build a regression model to see the differences. Make sense?
