Amazing so grateful to you, my wipers got in a right mess. Thought I would have to take the car to the dealer. Your solution worked for me 2016 Focus. Thanks 🙏 🎉
You guys are amazing. I had a windshield replaced a couple of days and just realized they had installed the wipers incorrectly. I thought I was going to have to drive 45 minutes to have them fix it but you showed me how to fix the problem in 5 minutes.
When you said to look to see if they were on correct I checked and the guys that put them on had them backwards swapped them now they work just fine Thank you !
Thanks for the video. The reminder that the wipers are marked according to side helped as well as how to keep the mechanism from moving during install helped me install correctly to stop the wipers from having a sword fight and being a disturbance while I am driving. I was careful to make sure they are switched off during install like you recommend.
Aren't there also like an H laying on it side to help you align where each blade should be on the windshield. So that the blade crosses perpendicular to the center line and parallel to the two side lines?
Hi very good informative video guys. My issue is my driver's side windscreen wiper. Is touching the bonnet , and then stops working. Ford C Max 2011. Any advice would be great. Thanks
THANK YOU! I couldn't get mine right because I was trying to align them while the motor was off and every time I started the car the wipers would move and collide. Aligning them with the motor running fixed it.
Wow, my wipers started doing the same thing after getting some things installed at a shop, thought was going to have to do some computer stuff or take it to ford then I found this video through the Focus RS forum, did exactly what they said and IT WORKED!!!! Thank you for this video, total lifesaver!
I'm stranded in the rain. They started to be jerking around not smooth at all. They kept bumping into each other. The lower right one into the left one. Yeah seems like that's the problem you described. I'll try it when I get home.
But my right wiper is below the driver's left side one.. 2016 Focus SE. Is what I saw in video the correct way? The right one ( from driver's seat) should be below the left one? OK will try it. I just got this car and first time I've used them. Yeah not working keep bumping into each other. The bottom one moving but it's just bumping into top one which not moving much just a lil.
I've just replaced the linkage on my car and now the sweep on the driver wiper is a bit too long, my wiper hits the a piller and the lower seal. The linkage is straight so I think the aftermarket part is a bit long and I don't think the sweep can be adjusted, can it?
On some fords, the newer escapes in particular, you have to take the wipers off to change the battery. So expect to do this whenever you put a new battery in.
Just found this out today, after spending more than an hour changing a car battery. Every car I get, the more recent, the more difficult it is to change the oil filters/spark plugs/batteries... But, I guess it makes sense to the engineers to compact it in the exact ways that they do.
I'm having trouble after replacing driver side motor . I pretty much followed your instructions exactly . And just after also tested them seemed both to work perfectly . But now the passenger side doesn't work at all . Seems stuck not moving at all . Driver side ( the one motor I replaced actually does ..Now after just trying to fix passenger side will start all over take both out and just redo following your instructions . Seems when I turn on they both do cycle . I did take one ( passenger side arm ) off and it does cycle .. As I've said before , now will take both off and redo .. Any advice ?
You need to program the wipers with a scan tool. The procedure is listed in the workshop manual for your vehicle. It only takes a couple of minutes to do, but I'm not sure if aftermarket scanners have this feature. You may have to use IDS or FDRS.
That was an error, but I believe looking at him put it on, you can tell what side is lower because if you own the car, you know the driver side has battrey, and the passenger has a coolant resivor
The calibrate is ok, but the install of Wipers is not correct because the left Arm is too low, the rubber blade is going on the plastic shield below and the Wiper will soon break down....
Do you have automatic wipers or just manual wipers If you have automatic then there may be a fault with the sensor. Which could be something as simple as debris in front of it. If you have manual wipers then there may be a fault with the wiper selector stalk, relay that controls the motors or the motors themselves. Without more info it would be difficult to diagnose further.
You realize you made a video of you making a mistake and then fixing it. L or R means from the angle u r looking at your car from. You dont measure right or left from the driver seat. Its measured by looking at your car from the front of your car. Solution to your problem. You had them on the wrong side in the first place.
Take-A W1ldguezz....respectfully, your statement is incorrect...all side designations are made relative to sitting in the drivers seat! This is an industry standard. The wipers were correctly positioned both upon removal and installation. If your statement was true then North American cars would be Known as RHD(right hand drive) but they are not, they are designated LHD.
@rod928s4 you are correct, yet as mechanics in North California, looking from the bumper toward the car is considered where L or R take place. Thats how I've done it n when ordering a part in a part store they go off that same analysis. But their is no exact way of determination.
No not if your like me and find out both arms are left side. Also you can skip forscan and turn off the car and immediately pull wiper arm switxh and hold to go into service mode. But if your wipers are really bad, that won't even work. Because my wipers, even after putting on the right sides, hit each other before making it to the top. Thus damaging my motor more. There is not wrong way as long as it works.
