Girl gardens expand every year as you learn what grows well and how much you use. You need more jars for next year so you can process all the goodies lol FYi you always need more jars than you thought. Now I'm new to pressure canning, been researching for years but it isn't a big thing in the UK. But have been water bath canning and dehydrating for along time. Trying to buy a bunch of meat in for winter. Right now it's in my freezer but want to spend the winter canning it up and making bone broth lol Right now at 8.30am on Friday morning trying to get my pain under control so i can have a big freezer meal cooking day. Got a bunch prepped yesterday to make today easier. Love freezer meals makes my days easier living in pain.

I just started canning at 67, and there’s only two of us in the household. I bought the Nesco electric canner and a steam canner. So much less water to deal with! I’m all for less weight to lift at my age, also. Loved the electric canner so much that I bought a second one for when I’m canning larger batches😊 If you just hit “stop” after using the browning function, you don’t need to unplug to start the canning function😊

🌻What a busy lady you are, you have so much knowledge on everything. have you been doing all this for years or just since moving to Alaska? I just wanted to say that so many appreciate all the time you take to make these videos for us I'm sure that you are wore out at the end of the day. You have such a beautiful home inside and out that beautiful view of the lake is breathtaking i can just imagine seeing it with a new blanket of snow covering everything. I'm so happy for you and your family having such a great place to enjoy and know you can grow your own food and that you know how to put it away to make sure your family has enough great nutrients to thrive on you are one amazing lady so much knowledge for one person. You always look so pretty i love your overalls you look so fit and fantastic in them. I was wondering if you don't mind me asking are they anything special you do to have such a beautiful thick head of hair? Mine has become so thin and brittle it has broke off up to my shoulders ever since my body has turned on me I've pretty much been bed bound since spring of 2022. Thats why i watch so much You Tube and I'm always thrilled when i find a channel as great as yours and i always dreamed of living in Alaska I also follow Alone in Remote Alaska she is great her and her dog Kenai . Thank you for doing all this that we can watch i sure appreciate it. P.S. I think its wonderful your grandma lives with you and how everyone loves and respects her so well you always stopping the video and helping her with whatever making sure she eats many families dont do anything like that they don't have the time to even check in on you or they are worried if they do it might come down to them being expected to step up. You all will be blessed 10 fold 🙏🏼🕊️🙏🏼💖. Sorry i wrote so much i live alone dont get company so when i start i don't know how to stop lol.❤

I have hemaplegic migraines. A very rare type Of migraine. I tried feverfew a long time ago and it didn’t help. But I get aura, headache on one side, numbness, light sensitivity and other symptoms. I’ve tried qulipta and ubrelvy. They didn’t work. So on Monday they switched me to Ajovy and Nurtec. I’m hoping I get relief because I’ve had them since I was 5 and I’m 49 now. It’s debilitating and I can’t plan anything. And I’m from Alabama, collards and turnip greens are a staple here. 😂

Ok you’ve convinced me to at least try it. FYI For your pumpkins. I saw on another channel, that they place cardboard under their pumpkins and fall squash. It’s supposed to help them not rot on the vine because of lots of rain.

I love getting ideas from you! I have a purple tree collard in my garden and here it is perennial. Very prolific. So I always have collards. I am going to try this recipe. Sounds yummy.

One year, I grew collard greens. They grow big leaves and have the same plants for two years; I live in Florida. I have frozen them and dehydrated. Frozen I add it to soup or other vegetables and rice and dry sprinkle on everything.

I'm from the south and we only eat the stems in the leaf portion. I will have to try your method. Love all your videos.

if you let the frost get your collard greens it will make them sweeter and tender and won't take so long to cook try it and see you can also harvest bottom leaves and thy will continue to grow

Hi Jessica and sweet family! I love collard greens, so good with salt pork. Your grandmother is the cutest and I really enjoy her. I’m prepping one day and canning the next, I’m not as fast as I used to be, lol. Your dinner looked delicious. The collard greens look so pretty in the jar. Hope everyone has a very blessed night!
