Ruggable rugs are a great solution for always having a clean rug! Here are some tips and tricks to maintaining your Ruggable to keep it fresh and clean, stop edges from curling, and easily put it back on the pad.
You’re welcome! And yes, she always has to be in the middle of everything! I think she is in almost every video I’ve done since we got her two years ago. 😂
@@theinteriorlyfe2043 it doesn't lay as perfectly as it did before, but it's clean. I actually had to run it about 6 times before it wasn't dripping wet.
I have 3 ruggables now and just ordered a 4th. The first 3 came in about a week. The one I just ordered is looking like it won’t arrive till after the new year. I’m sure it’s supply chain issues like everything else! 🥴
I just ordered a ruggable yesterday. I hope we love it. It’s the same pattern as yours, well, sort of. It’s the Star Wars version but I agreed to it since the pattern is subtle. I’m hoping it isn’t tacky 🤣 but my husband and daughter are excited.
Hi there, I only watched the regular video and saw this after I put my rug in for its first wash. I put it in cold water and a gentle cycle. We’ll see how that comes out. Glad to hear about the air dry and will do that. Thank you for the video. A new subscriber
Glad you filmed this! I don't own one but I've been curious about ruggable for awhile now. If I don't have an air dry setting on my dryer would you suggest you actually air dry it?
I would put it on the lowest heat setting you have and remove it when it is barely damp. I’m always cautious with the backing or heating too much and curling edges. If you have nice weather and the space, you could totally dry it outside.
I have a 9x12 now and it fit. If your washer is small, you may have to do a couple of washes and flip move it around inside to make sure it’s getting clean.
My first ruggable is being delivered this week. I am concerned about the curling edges you addressed while you were in the drying cycle, may I ask which pile and which pad style is being used? Thanks! Wicked cute pup! We have a soon to be 16 year old yorkie. They are fun!
I have just the standard rug and rug pad. Not the premium. I never dry my rugs with heat, only air. I now have a 9x12 (we got a sectional and needed a larger size) and I don’t dry that one at all because it is so big. I spin it 2x in the washer to get as much water out as possible and hang it over the banister of the upstairs loft. I point oscillating fans at it and turn on the ceiling fan in the loft. It’s dry within a few hours. I say dry, but more like slightly damp, when I put it back on the pad. I have 4 rugs for about 3 years, and none of my edges have curled.
Is your rug within a high traffic area? I ask because we purchased a "knock-off" washable rug and boy, does it get dirty quickly - also, the pattern is rubbing off. Your rug was my first choice, but I didn't pull the trigger - I went cheap. Love your pup too!
I’m so sorry, I just saw this! Yes, the area is very high traffic. I actually have a different one there now because we got a large sectional and needed a 9x12. It’s also a ruggable. The one in the video is in a different room now.
Hey Beth, It was a lovely video. I'm just wondering, has your dog ever had a pee accident on the rug? If yes, does the rug pad underneath get wet too? Please let me know, thank you!
Thank you! Our dogs have not. The cats have thrown up on it though. The top layer has a sort of rubber backing to keep anything from leaking through. That’s why it’s so important to air dry. It’s keeps the top layer from shrinking and making the edges curl.
I just want to let you know that our puppy did pee on the rug last week! She was just fixed and a little out of sorts. My husband cleaned it up Resolve carpet cleaner and it came completely out and did not soak through to the pad. I washed the rug the next day and it came out looking brand new!
Is the cover waterproof? We have an 11 year old boxer and her bladder isn’t what it used to be. As to why we are going to invest in a ruggable. Thank you.
I wouldn’t say the cover is water proof, but at little resistant. If you caught the accident right away, then it wouldn’t have time to soak through. The pad is water proof though.
