Thank you for your excellent video. I bought mine with several other succulents. It's flowers were dead so I got them half price. I separated them into their own container. This plant has grown from 3 inches to 1' in 3 years. This year it has been flowering since Christmas and it's now April. I will be propagating after the blooms die off. Thanks so much for the information
Thank you so much for the great tips!! I live in California, so mine is an out door plant. Going to try some of the tips you had. I will let you know, if you would like, how it’s goes. I am on Year 2 with mine and had no idea it was a perennial. So glad I didn’t chuck it!
I planted mine outside in N. California. I got it in a group of succulents trimming. Didn't know about planting it inside. I have about a dozen now and they are about 18".
Thank you- loved the video! We're dealing with an aphid and fungus gnat issue. Can you please comment on an effective systemic treatment that will not harm Flaming Katy for those of us who are trying to save our plants?
Hiya Nice vid thanks. I've currently got loads of new growth in my plant but no blooms. It's been sitting on a NW facing window sill, gifted last year. You're tip about dark nights is helpful. Any tips appreciated. Thanks again
This is wonderful information. Thank you! I just got one that came in a basket with other plants. It’s August, and it’s blooming. Since this is a winter-blooming plant, what do I do when it loses its blooms and I have pruned it? It will probably be late September by then. Won’t it be too soon to put it in darkness?
Hello. I'm having a difficult time with my Kalanchoe plant, but I don't want it to completely give up on me. Currently, all of my mature stems only have thick green leaves at the top of them, and the rest of the stems are bare; the leaves are dying slowly upward, but there is some new growth. There are also new stems with healthy leaves, but some of those have lost lower leaves. The mature stems have brown lines on the lower portion of them, while the upper portions are green. One of the mature stems as two new leaves starting to grow at its bare base. There are also brown lines on the lower portion of a couple of the young stems, while the rest of the stems are green. Some of the new stew stems have lost lower leaves as well. 🥺 Please help. I pray this plant can thrive again, because I don't want it to die. Can you help?
This has happened to ours too. The top growth is healthy but it's probably 5" of stem and it hasn't flowered for a couple of years. It's a shame the OP hasn't replied to you
Will this survive an outdoor Winter in zone 9b? Source online say do not allow the temperature to go below 55F. Zone 9b sees temperatures above freezing but in the 35F+ range.
Does it need to be in a big pot? Can I send you a picture of mine? Mine is in medium to big pot and it’s becoming lighter than when I first got it! It was very pink now its becoming lighter pink... should I be concerned?
Hi! I have my first plant and its flaming katy. I just bought it 5 days ago. Then today i found one of. The stem drop. What will i do? The others still good?
Hi Keishia The frst thing to check is for signs of overwatering or underwatering. Flaming katy can normally tolerate drought for a while without drooping. Overwatering can cause root rot, which is much more of a problem.
Mine is dying and idk why. I water it when the soil is dry and i put the pot close to the window because its brighter there. I don’t know what’s the problem:(
Very detailed and useful discussion. But on a technical level, you need a better microphone. There is an echo in your recording room and the microphone picks up that echo. It makes it very hard to understand everything you are saying.
