Loving the tutorial RWD! "Always two there are, a master, and an apprentice." So therapeutic just making stuff!

Top tutoring!! Love seeing stuff like this Dave. They look really effective. For my (now, non existent 😢) Space Pub which had a base measurement of 25 square feet, I used polystyrene and burnt/licked it with my plumber's soldering gas bottle. This creates a really nice effect for stone walls, but I did cover it in decorating plaster afterwards.

Thank you my friend. Burning the foam?!? Haven't tried that technique yet...

@@RedWagonDioramas More... caressing it with the flame really. Having said that, I spent several hours making a six inch scale Castle-style entrance with arch and parapets a while back, and decided to give it a little more "flame" and managed to completely set fire to it. Large fireball and total destruction was the result and I was so glad I was doing it outside... Really turned dangerous. Gutted by that and had to spend hours re-making it.

Beautiful! Your dios are next level. I could just stare at your shelves for hours… What do you use for the walls of your dios on your shelves? Looks like project foam board with custom painting of background to match the dio… Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Thank you very much :) Yes, you are mostly correct. I use craftfoam poster board and print out an inkjet background image, then use modgepodge to glue the images to the backer boards. You can see it in my Part1 Dagobah building video here about 8 min. in to the video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sMu8PY6DO8c.htmlsi=JWvFnxifQYxHkq_q&t=517

We worked on it two separate days. Did 4 rocks. Probably about 3 hrs work total between carving and painting.

I couldn’t continue to watch because of the sounds. I wish u had voiced over the whole thing.

Wait, I thought people love ASMR videos?!? All joking aside, I get that, The foam cutting is a bit grating. Just mute that part I guess? I thought folks would like to see the carving process as well as the painting. Appreciate your comment though!

@@RedWagonDioramas great idea, it looks cool. I think I’d like my version to be ice as in the Hoth Wampa cave. Just that sound is not good. I’ll look at it with text on screen so I know what’s being said.
