On this channel I share tips and techniques for how you can make dioramas for displaying your action figure collection. I also dabble in figure customization. I'll be showcasing favorite past projects, as well as my current work as I go along.
As a kid, I used to set up scenes in my old Radio Flyer red wagon, hence the name of this channel. I'm an 80's kid. I grew up on GI Joe, Star Wars, LEGO, Transformers, and everything in between. Star Wars has always been my favorite fandom, followed closely by Marvel and GI Joe.
Right now I primarily collect the 1:12 scale (6" figures) Star Wars Black Series and Marvel Legends lines by Hasbro, the 12" Jumbo Star Wars figures by Gentle Giant, and vintage Kenner Star Wars. I love to recreate scenes from the original Star Wars movies, and most of this channel will be dedicated to that collection. This is my hobby - everything on here is from and for my own personal collection.
Great video!! Question. Is the new R2 from ROTJ that you are showing here, the same as the R2 from Mandalorian? Both are from 2023. And both retailed for $ 25. www.actionfigure411.com/star-wars/6-black-series/galaxy/r2-d2-the-mandalorian-6954.php
@@kakarotprime69 that’s awesome. I e heard from one other collector with a similar story. I’m probably going to make a headdress and display it in a mannequin.
That cantina is actually very cool and I can definitely see it getting funded just because of the sisters. Definitely way better than than tone-deaf Rancor with bones and cardboard. Now I'm not going to get it as I have no room for it and for that price they really should have included a lighting kit. That said, I did get the Razor Crest (which also should have had lights imo). But yeah, good to see that HasLab is actually releasing interesting stuff again as the Rancor and that dumb lightsaber from that chick in Obi-Wan were massive duds imo.
Good thoughts! I have the razorcrest too. Amazing ship! Main reason I did not get the ghost or this cantina was space and price. I do like the haslab projects generally, but not everything works for everyone. I think the rancor could have succeeded if they hadn’t bungled the campaign so badly and if they had done better addressing the prior problems in the black series line. The Reva light saber was a non starter. Such a weird choice that had to be pushed by Disney. Thanks for watching!
@@RedWagonDioramas Yeah, the Rancor (I think) fell flat because of the extremely weak tier rewards (some bones and a piece of cardboard? WTAF?!). Now I read that they did include the Keeper art some point but by then it was probably too late already as interest had dropped too much. Also, I wasn't overly impressed by the paintjob either tbh. Yeah, that lightsaber was just a massive fail as that Reva was just a nobody and it should have simply been sold at Disney parks directly or something in my opinion. That thing had no place as a Haslab product. Almost felt as if Disney was pushing it for some 'diversity' nonsense or whatever that's now running rampant everywhere. So yeah, the Cantina and the Ghost show that Haslab is finally back in tune with the fans. Let's hope it stays that way. I wouldn't mind seeing more large playsets of iconic locations instead of ships as the playsets from Hasbro felt rather lacking and you always needed to buy 2 packs as they only give you half a set for some reason. I had to buy that cantina set from the Mandalorian twice just to have enough parts but they should have included benches as well imo so Mando could sit. Then again, we're also still missing a 3.75 figure of Greef Carga in his bountyhunting garb afaik (only ever saw him as a figure in his magistrate robes). I really love my Razor Crest and the details are awesome. I do miss that (at that price) they did not include some lights and I am very hesitant to drill holes myself for wires and lights LOL.
I appreciate your level headed analysis. I backed 3. One to open, one to keep carded figures (and hopefully sell the cantina pieces), and one to sell a few years down the road. Haven't taken that approach before, fingers crossed it generally works out!
If you can afford the expense, and you want the sisters both carded in loose, then I think it makes perfect sense to do what you did. Hope it works out for you too. Thanks for watching!
@@RedWagonDioramas Nope. Totally missed it. Learned about it a year back thinking it was “Fox”boro but figured it out and put it on the short list. Seriously need a calendar.
@@thechrissnell there were a lot of comics for sure. I don’t do comics at all, so I didn’t cover those in the video. Next time we’ll def have to meet up!
@@darthwizzywizard yeah that seemed high to me for the graded vinyl cape Jawa. But I don’t know the graded market at all. I was more interested in the carded minirigs. Those were pretty cool. If they were loose I might have gone for one.
I spied you held a bag of loose FisherPrice Adventure People which formed the basis of the prototype 3.75 kenner sw figures back in the 1970's. Loved the few I had as a kid.
@@davidedge2828 shows like this are a lot of fun. I just go to explore. Not usually hunting for anything specific. (valaverse figure being an exception here obviously)
Cool little show! Those are the BEST in my opinion. Easier to navigate and make deals with Sellers 😎 Thank you again buddy for the Bone Collector 💀📦 cheers bro 🍻🤘
Epic Toy Show! Awesome mix of modern and vintage! I never knew LEGO made light up lightsabers. Plus, who doesn’t need a food truck full of toys? YWing for the Win!!!🤟🤩
"Priced too high" I guess you think making molds for what would amount to a low production run for collectors is cheap? I hate to break it to you, it's not. Spectre has a good video on costs of a figure on his channel since he worked with Mattel and can easily give out what to expect for costs.
Awesome shelf! ❤ I decided to back the HasLab Mos Eisley Cantina, just b/c it's modular enough to where I can display just different bits & pieces w/either new or vintage Kenner figures. I can do just the entrance, an alcove or the bar. No need to display the whole thing. I too wouldn't have the room for it, even if I did. 😂
Loving that Battle Mountain Scenery by TimMee. This is the type of "playset"/diorama displays toymakers like Hasbro could be doing w/their TVC/Retro line. Something not terribly expensive, but w/enough quality to display some figures with creatively -- like Tusken Raiders, Jawas, Luke, etc. Like Kenner back in the day, its mold could be reused in different colors, for recreating scenes on Tatooine, Hoth, Mandalore & Mustafar.
@@RedWagonDioramas - Not a fan of cardboard playsets b/c of deterioration. But plastic playsets, I'm all for. Even generic, multi-use playsets that can be used for 3 & 3/4 inch figures.
