I am so glad you like it. I was really hoping the camera positions would help people understand. I know it took me a while to figure it out, and I could not find clear instructions out there, so I decided to make my own. I’m having the same issue 🤔after I cast on and try to start my first row it wont catch under the pin. I’ve tried different ways to place the yarn before I try to start. Guess it has to be placed in xactly the right way. Also, if I get started ok, I get a stitch that has 2 strands in front. Not sure what I’m doing wrong🤔 don’t know if it’s explainable in writing. I’ve watched zillions of videos. If you have anything that might help, getting frustrated😔

@@karenschwalb4952 Hi Karen! Thanks for watching my video. I'm not sure if you're experiencing the same issue I once had, but it sounds familiar. Some time ago, I bought my first Sentro knitting machine. No matter what I tried, I kept getting "dropped stitches." When I showed this to my husband, he noticed that it happened consistently on the same pin (or needle) each time. He decided to take the Sentro apart and remove that specific needle. Upon comparing it to another needle, he discovered that it was slightly bent backward. Even though it was a new machine, these things sometimes happen and I couldn't return it at that point. My husband used a heat gun to carefully bend the needle back into the correct position. He used a template of a good needle drawn on card stock to guide him. After this fix, the machine no longer gave me any problems. The main point here is that regardless of how you cast on, the issue might not be with you but rather something as simple as a bent needle, which is an easy fix. Good needles can be purchased inexpensively on AliExpress (takes a much longer time to receive your purchase than Amazon, but on Amazon it costs more). Again, without seeing exactly what's happening with your situation, I can't be certain. But I can share what happened to me, and I hope this helps you or anyone else who might come across this. I too was once frustrated so I fully understand. I wish you the best of luck and I hope you fix this soon. - Nancy ❤

Is there a way to prevent dropped and tucked stitches ?
@GiftsHQ
@GiftsHQ 7 месяцев назад
Yes, there are a few tricks out there using dryer sheets, ear plugs, etc, and they work well!

If the white needle if the last pin why is that the first pin to add the yarn to? Sorry I am a newbie
@GiftsHQ
@GiftsHQ 7 месяцев назад
Hi Donna! Thank you for watching my video! That's a great question. The truth is, technically, you can actually start on any pin you like! But the white pin is like a little helper reference marker. If you begin and end on the white pin, it means you've made one full loop around the machine in "tubular mode." When you follow patterns for circular knitting machines like Sentro or Addi, they might tell you to crank and knit a certain number of rows. Imagine making a cozy beanie hat for adults (which takes about 108-130 rows, depending on the yarn and how tight you knit). If you start and stop at the white pin, that counts as one row! Just keep cranking to the number of rows to finish your new masterpiece. Some machines, like the Sentro 40-pin, don't have a built-in row counter. Even the counter on a 48-pin Sentro might break and stop working. But no worries! If that happens, one can track the number of rows cranked. Watch the white pin make a full circle around the machine and count each time it comes back to where it started. Many circular machine knitters like using the white pin as a guide for tube knitting. If you want, you can technically pick another pin as your marker. Just remember to keep track of that specific pin. That's why the white pin is important, but it's up to you! Everyone starts somewhere, even soon-to-be amazing machine knitters like you! We're all here to learn and help each other. Also check out my other machine knitting videos. And please don't forget to Like and Subscribe. I hope this helps you with your next project. Happy crafting, and Happy Holidays! - Nancy ❤️
