Love this video! Very clear and to the point. I'm one of those people who tried a BC reel many years ago and spent more time untangling backlash than fishing, so I got rid of it. That was before RU-vid and great videos like this one. I'm now inspired to pick up a Black Max and give it another go...now armed with the right way to adjust it. 👍

Just viewed your video and fully agree with your opinion on set-up and use. I have used Trilene Xl exclusively for all my fishing line for pike to catfish, bluegills to bass. I have the twin to your reel on an ugly stik gx2, 6' Medium and absolutely love it for about 80% of my fishing needs. Great video. I have always filled the spool to abut 1/8" of edge and think you have a good point in not filling it as much. One hundred yards of line will last a long time for the average fisher person.

Makes me anxious to get out there and fish!

I have been using Abu Garcia blackmax baitcaster little over a year and still couldn’t figure it out how to cast it properly. Watched ton of utube videos but still get backlash. You explained it very well and going to follow step by step instructions. 🤞

I love Trilene 12lb. My favorite by far.

Its important that its a circular line in the querschnitt and that the line doesnt get bigger of wetnessss

Bought that reel the other day at Walmart I put it on the Ugly Stik GX2 rod hopefully I picked the correct rod for it.

Good video. I've never used a bait casing reel so I bought a Black Max just to try it. My buddy that I've been fishing with for years, that's all he uses for stripers and large mouth - we shall see. Oh, I'm taking an open face with me just in case lol

i have an abu garcia max x baitcaster and it doesnt show any numbers for the magnectic braking system does anyone know the max braking system for an abu garcia max x

They are great reels i use spiderwire braided line 10 to 15 lb works excellent

I have one of these reels. I have had a lot of bird nest problems. Don’t use braded line.

That’s a good reel for the money,,, I use the Pro Max for a few dollars more,,,,

I have 15 pound line on mine is this affecting how far my casts are ?
