In this video I breakdown HOW WRs CAN NEVER DROP A PASS. I hope you enjoy! WE ARE TRAVELING TO 15 MORE STATES FOR QB/WR CAMPS! ⬇️⬇️⬇️ www.firstdowntraining.com/boo...
Hey man, I think it’s awesome you make these videos and respond to comments still, I wanted to say that I am truly inspired to be a wide receiver, and practice and workout solely for that purpose to be on any team. I still really struggle, though. At home I play pretty fine, and I always track the ball but I think I don’t do it all the way through. I don’t know. I’ll have to see at school today, but all in all, after a horrible day of football, your videos give me confidence and tips to keep going, thank you
So awesome to hear man, thank you for watching the videos and I’m pumped they can give you some extra motivation! Reach out anytime, always happy to help
@@firstdowntraining I have issues with inconsistency in my play, and nerves. But I will trust in the process, I’m sure I’ll get better at this, thanks again, awsome of you to respond on such an old video. Cya coach!
Can you come to Washington, D.C. and do a class with my team?? We are the Washington DC Prodigy women’s tackle football team! It’s my rookie year this year and your videos have been amazingly helpful!! Thank you so much for these!
No problem at all, really glad the videos are able to help you guys! We will be coming to DC next year- closest spot this year will be our camp in Philadelphia. Here is the info below www.firstdowntraining.com/service-page/philadelphia-pa-qb-wr-camp?referral=service_list_widget
thank you for helping me i was thinking to join a team and i didn't want anyone calling me bad and stuff now i am going to practice once agian thank you
Hey coach, You’re videos really help me as I’m a beginner to this, But What position do you recommend me if I’m a fast runner and got some strong arms?
Hey man I’m a little confused about taking a picture of the ball 🏈also your coming in clutch like always 💪🏿💪🏻 I am nine years old and looking forward for tryouts in August for tackle idk what position I should play but I think a TE or a DB is some thing I would want to be PLease help ty ❤
Yeah so taking a photo of the ball is essentially like the ball is thrown and when it hits your hands- pretend your eyes are a camera and you’re trying to take a shot of the ball. Like the only thing in your vision line should be the freeze frame of the football and nothing else
Awesome video! How long do you think it would take to get significantly faster, i’m in 8th grade and Im pretty fast. but i want to get even faster. Also right now i probably train weights 3-5 times a week and do speed training 2-3 times a week
Appreciate you man! I would suggest 3-4 months to make a big change in your speed. It takes time and this obviously isn’t one size fits all- you might see results in a month with a simple tweak to your form. But that’s what I would guess 3-4
I always flinch when the ball comes toward me and always scared to go for the ball when im playing with other people cause i keep getting scared that ill get hit but when i actually get hit it doesnt hurt but i keep scared still and when i touch the ball it bounces of my hand
so I've been watching your videos for a long time and they really help but I realize that I'm not bad at catching it's just that during my games I zone out and I noticed that I zoned out because I would make a play and then right after I didn't even remember what I just did and I think that causes me to drop certain balls when I'm not thinking about what I'm doing if that makes sense
100%, I would honestly try to focus solely on the hands. Don’t worry too much about anything else but when the ball is in the air if you can lock in and just focus on looking the ball in- it will help you a ton with those drops
Coach I am in 8th grade I am struggling with upper body strength what are some exercises or a workout plan that would help thx so much coach for everything Amen
I’m going to try to play junior varsity next school year as a freshman, I have never played on the football team before, I’ve played around with the football players though in stuff like flag football or just two hand touch, I’ve mostly been in the gym, I’ve got a strong chest, arms, and decent legs and back, I’m 5’9 and 1/2 but I’m definitely still growing, just 1 month ago I was 5’8. I have talked to the runny backs at my school and I feel like I’d be a good fit, what position do you think I should play? Do you have any suggestions for me?
I would say definitely slot WR. I think you have a good build and skill set for that position! I appreciate you watching and reaching out man. Hit me up anytime you have any questions
@@firstdowntraining thank you for your suggestion, I bought a drill ladder and cones and I’ll be practicing most days over summer and until then to train for next years football season. 👍👍
I do agree but don’t agree at the same time cause if you look at the ball for that long after the catch it’s more likely that you will get hit very hard
Hey buddy I’m in 9th grade and I’m working out everyday to play my first year of football in 10th grade. Do you think I still have time to become a pretty good wide receiver for my high school career?
How do you know when to look back on an over the shoulder pass? I sometimes mess up and look too early or late. Is there a way of knowing or should I just practice more?
I would suggest when you’re in the open field (not the redzone) keep your head down for about 10yds- in the redzone you keep your head down for like 2-3yds because it will be a quicker fade. We are posting a video on that this week!
Closest spot would be Buffalo NY! Here is the info below www.firstdowntraining.com/service-page/buffalo-new-york-qb-wr-camp?referral=service_list_widget
Yeah you want to have long strides but a slight lean forward with your pad level. I tell my guys to pretend they are “pulling a sled” and this usually helps them with pad level
Hey coach when i’m trying to catch a ball it like hits my hand and i don’t catch it ive tried to to stretch, and everything and nothing i’ve tried camera and still nothing g ive jammed my thumb so many times and I just can’t get my hands to catch the ball.
Hey man it’s tough for me to say because I’ve never seen you catch, so idk exactly what it is. We just posted a video titled “why you drop passes” it’s a longer form video- will help you out!. It’s about 6 minutes long
Good points, but this isn’t how Tyreek Hill or Licket catch.. at times depending on where and how fast the ball is coming, positioning, etc you have to moreso use your body. It can be awkward shooting out of the slot in a slant and catch the ball with haves out in front. I avg 188 a game as a slot receiver in high school. 5’7 and was un guardable - I usually just catch it in the bread casket and took it the house. It’s the guys who lack the ability to seperate ans struggle to catch over the shoulder who need to moreso catch with hands like this - not receivers who can find space at a high level
