I found a Red Ear Slider back in 2013. She was about the size of a quarter. I found her at the airport. I stuck her in my pocket and took her home. Bought a fish tank and heater,correct lighting. She's pretty big now. She's about 10in long. About 5in wide. I initially named him Freddy. Then a few years ago freddy laid eggs. Changed Freddy's name to Frida.🙂🐢🐈🐕

This reminded me of my pet turtle, Darwin. He's the cutest thing of the entire world! I've had him since 2014 when he was still a hatchling, now he's really big and lazy hehe. He loves to receive massages on his legs and eyes, also can't forget his shell too!

Aww he sounds very cute! He reminds me of my turtles I used to have they love it when you pet their neck lol, I miss them but I think they are doing well and I think yours is doing well too!

Man I'm in love!! As much as I love my hatchling Diamondback Terrapins there's nothing like classic painted turtles 😍 Makes me want a pair of painteds for my pond when I finish digging!

Ed wee love you your knowledge ponds ecosystems plants but we love love love turtles and turtle habitats/ponds show more turtles are soo endangered we know u can a lot about them so do turtle videos a lot ✨🐢💚🤙👍🐸🌱🐊💦🐍🦖🐢🐢🐢🐢✨🤙😃

Great vid, but I have questions... So these turtles stay underground that whole entire time? And the one question that really gets me is.... U mentioned pothos for the turtles, I read and have heard many statements that pothos is bad for turtles, that they can't digest it. It would be great if you can clear that up for me and the people that have told me that. Caws I have been holding back on the turtle tank design. And I love the plant so I would love to include it in my turtle enclosure builds.

Why catch wild baby turtles when you go to a reputable breeder and get them there, without having to take from the wild population?

Pup314 We’re catching them to give them an increased chance of survival, they’re very vulnerable as babies(everything eats them!) We’ll take care of them until spring and release them back into the wild to help the local Turtle populations.....

Do not roll a turtle or tortoise onto its back and then continue the roll in the same direction to get them back upright. You are twisting their internal organs which can cause all sorts of problems. If you flip over a turtle left to right flip it back over right to left, and vice versa.

There is no such thing as a mid land map turtle. A midland painted turtle would be what he picked up. Illinois is covered with mid land and eastern painted turtles. I have caught a couple southern painters to but very rare for northern illinois

Correct Midland Painted, Did I say Map??? Some of them have crossed with Western Painted Turtles which makes a beautiful combination!

I was bass fishing one time when I was a kid went to take the hook out of the basses mouth and saw a little tiny black tail wiggling and it’s going. I pulled it out. It was a snapping turtle the size of a quarter still had the egg tooth on his nose, kept him for a few years then let him go.

I found two turtles they were both wild one i found under a pine tree so I named her pine and I found another one almost in my pool and he was super fast so I named him speedy they were super easy to find awsome video!!

We dont need to catch them. Let them love their lives. Captivating them is selfish as fuck, most of those babies die s soon as they are bought because of inadequate caring. If you consider catching turtles, please reconsider it. As stupid as it is, buy one instead and care for them properly. Not that there's that much big of a difference..
