In this video, we uncover all of the secrets of the FRLG (Firered & Leafgreen) Safari zone's encounter system & how to take advantage of them! Catch more shiny Pokémon, complete your dex faster, or snag a Lucky Egg easier!
Safari Zone Pokémon that benefit from the bait strat: Chansey, Tauros, Kanagaskhan, Scyther, Pinsir, Dragonair, Dratini, Seaking, Venomoth, Parasect. Many of these are difficult to add to the Pokédex so bait should come in handy! Here are a few more helpful tips for SHINY hunting in the Safari Zone:
-Illuminate works in FRLG if the Pokémon with that ability is at the front of your party
-The white flute remains active until a map change occurs
-You can use Repels to increase your odds of specific wild encounters
-ALWAYS carry 30 balls (I've seen battles with Dratini go as long as 90 turns)
How to get lucky egg in fire red leaf green?
Grabbing lucky eggs massively increases the amount of experience (xp or exp) you can farm. Chansey has a 5% chance to hold one. Without the bait strat the odds of obtaining a lucky egg are about 1/3650 encounters even with the repel trick. Combining the repel trick and the bait strategy the odds of catching a Chansey with a lucky egg are 1/1967.
