I first learnt how to catch Garfish as a kid down in Melbourne off the Frankston and Mordialloc piers. 25 years later and I'm still at it and loving it as much as ever.
These days I'm living in Brisbane on the Redcliffe Peninsular and have discovered that the bay is full of beautiful Snub nose Garfish. These fish are fun and easy to catch and are just as good as whiting to eat and a fantastic bait for larger predator fish.
In this video ill show you just how to catch garfish land based using just dough as bait. Land based float fishing would have to be one of the most exciting ways to fish. Its a perfect way to start kids off fishing and its just as much fun for adults.
