I literally just thought of this idea and you hit the nail right on the head with what I was thinking I’ll definitely be making one of these! Thanks for the great video bub!
I had 4, 55gal tanks in my spare room many years ago. For crawfish, bluegill, creek chubs and suckers. I had same filters, but only one per tank. Stop buying that stuff. All you need is a roll of fiber or it is called pillow fill. Jam a hand full in the back bottom of the filter box and rinse it one time a week. I used better bait or G juice...It looked like a normal fish tank for years ...the kids loved it and even named them....LMAO....pacer caught a channel cat. Fatty caught a flathead...and so on...lol.
Now that my kids are gone, I use 55g drums in my shed, not for show and no filters like I did back then. They ONLY have foam filters that the air pump is hooked to. As long as you use better bait or G juice and have enough air, they do fine, for weeks if you feed them a little.
Okie Catfishing yard sales sell large fish tanks for next to nothing! Or u could take a old deep freezer chest that doesn't work and turn it into one too!
thatt looks like a relatively clean spot to throw a cast net without it getting caught on stuff. You can actually keep the blue filter material for years, after you cut it open and remove the carbon. That would help lower your costs of having this bait tank.
2 flys 2 inch apart with a wax worm you'll get a lot more action even bass ..and rock and bluegill... you basically filmed what I do every other weekend just to get when I go catfishing...oh and first!!!!!
Super Hank Outdoors oh yeah get one's with small head on them (baitfish)fly with eyes on them two jigs apart like that make a look like they're swimming in the school . And I changed my bobber now I go by the Phil Bobbers the little ones crappie Bobbers with the spring to pull up and I saw off at each end and then I drill all the way through it and tooth pick at top now u got a little bigger bobber with better casting ... the little flies look like they're carrying their larvae and they're swimming in the school so it drives the fish nuts
those filter replacements are too expensive. A softball size ball of open cell foam around the filters intake tube would be a good pre filter for your twin backpacks. Its easier to clean than opening up the backpack filters. You could also keep your old filter replacement, cut it open, and replace the carbon chips themselves rather than purchasing another replacement filter insert over and over. You can Buy some aquarium charcoal in bulk and just wash the media floss pouch in the old water from your water changes.. I used to keep Cichlids and always wanted to have a couple bluegills or local creek critters. Oh I DID keep a local crawdad for a few days, but I could tell the warm water bothered him so I let him go
The cooler the better for metabolism, but you don't want more than 10 degree difference between water with what they'll go into when you fish. Mine is outside and I'll be cooling them down some with ice in my boat shad barrel before going to the river I'll be fishing which is significantly cooler.
Whisker Hunters Joe Herron shad are super hard to keep alive in the tank. I’ve heard round or circular tanks are better because they beat themselves to death in the corners
Mister C4 yes lol. He's actually in one of my older videos it's a Scioto river snapping turtle. Mike was really cool and fun to fish with but his channel blew up and never heard from him again lol. Guess that happens sometime
