Catch bait from the beach with this trick, no cast net required! Sand perch and croakers are some of the best snook bait, and they're pretty good to eat too!

This technique actually works. People walking by us on the beach were amazed we were using Sabiki hooks to catch croakers. Fish bites work instead of shrimp, too.

terrific vid, Beto! I always use artificial early in morning for snook, but once the sun gets up ( or lots off ppl swimming around), it’s live bait time! It’s almost guaranteed! I actually use tiny pieces of fishbites like someone said. works better than shrimp for me and stays on longer! God bless!
@mattsloan32
@mattsloan32 6 лет назад
Great video. I have done this too. I found tiny pieces of fishbites last longer than a pieces of shrimp and it seems to work even better with a drop of shrimp procure on the little skirt. The procure will last for many casts.

Thanks I’m new to fishing the area and was in my boat yesterday watch a few other captains casting the perch. And hooking up. I now have to go use your technique and load up on the bait

Cool. This will work from a boat as well. You may just need to add a small egg sinker to get to the bottom in deeper water.

This coming December I'm taking all this snook catching advice and equipment to the carribean beach of Cartagena, Colombia South America , where I just bought a beachfront apartment. I hope walk out of the apartment building across to the beach and try to get the live bait and then some snook.

How big is too big for them sand perch aka mojarra? I've caught some in my canal that were bigger than the ones you caught. I'm talking 1.5lb or so. Like I have some pics of them next to my shoe and they are bigger than my shoe. Is that too big for bait? I noticed the one you hooked in the video was just a little bigger than your hand it appeared is that a good size for big snook and even grouper? Thanks
@phytobedo
@phytobedo 2 года назад
Yeah you’ll get more bites with hand sized ones . That’s not to say a massive one won’t work

How do you recommend hooking the live bait fish for snook?
@phytobedo
@phytobedo 4 года назад
If it’s a croaker or sand perch, through the roof of the mouth and out the top by the nose. Greenies or sardines, sideways through the clear spot by the nostrils
@rushhourfishing2946
