Nice early winter afternoon on the bay chasing some big tiger squid on jigs. Targeting the super shallow rocky outcrops proved successful with 8 good squid landed in quick time.
Great videos mate only just found your RU-vid channel this afternoon and I’ve pretty much watched them all. Love your work and please keep them coming. I love Morton bay beautiful place
Another great session mate and some really helpful tips in there as well! Keep up the great work and enjoy that feed, my mouth was watering seeing you tip them into the esky!
Thanks mate! It’s a new one, NS Blackwater 2 egi. 7’6” jig 1.8-3. Good length and weight for casting small jigs from the boat. Most guys go longer rods and heavier if they are fishing from the bank, wanting to cast longer with bigger jigs.
Hey mate, what colours and jigs would you recommend for a novice at squid fishing, also what tide and wind do you have most success on? Coming up to Moreton bay for the first time in a couple weeks, trying to get a game plan together so any advice appreciated, cheers.
Hey mate, some areas are good on the high tide and others the low. You want to try and find clean water, rocks that have at least 30cm or more of water over them and a bit of a drop off close by. This video was from the ‘hole in the wall’ at peel island and is better on the low tide. Goat island is near by and that fishes better on a high for me. So there’s a couple options in Moreton bay for you mate. Always carry a bright colour and a natural colour yamashita jig in size 2.5.
