we just celebrated summer solstice... and we made beautiful fruit platter with mango, pineapple, strawberries, and dragon fruit... and used as our center piece for our altar. [we are in south america semi-tropical] the ritual was sun going down about power and gratitude for what has been and what is yet to come - we chanted the name of the person/kid in the center raising power and then came the thunder and rain to close it, but the sun still shinning as it went behind the mountain. talk about high-energy!

This was informative, relaxing and very enjoyable....I love to be in the garden and feel very close and connected to the Earth, as we are also made of it! It is very relaxing and I wish you well, as a Christian woman, I do no spells but enjoy all the moments that God gives....blessings to you* the folklore is fascinating.

In Slavic Paganism in Ukraine (half of my background, but I'm also half German) we have Kupala. Flower crowns for daaaaaays with ferns and poppies and other herbs. It's supposed to be incredibly hot here on Vancouver Island for the next 2 days, so there will be lots of swimming in the river. I developed a strawberry allergy after chemo and it's the saddest thing ever because I miss strawberry desserts SO MUCH!

Strawberries are my favorite also since childhood and, it seems, they may also be your son's favorite as well. He is absolutely adorable. Bavaria is beautiful. I remember, when growing up, I was always reading the Grimm Brother's stories, lol. Bavaria fascinated me with its rich history and tales of it being haunted.... There are many great books most of them will however only exist in German language or Latin, plus the really good researched ones are all from the 1800s - so a bit hard to read. My favourites however are: Deutsche Mythology by Jacob Grimm and Sagen und Legenden aus der Oberpfalz by Franz X. v. Schönwerth
