Fingers crossed that the weather will be good! A colleague once asked if it ever snows at Midsummer in Sweden, and I had to honestly reply "rarely..." ;D
Wow, thank you so much! Oh, and I just have to mention that the kayaking video you've got is absolutely gorgeous. Haha, my latest video is also about kayaking...but quite a bit less polished, and more tongue-in-cheek...
You have a couple of weeks to practice! :D I'm thinking of making a follow-up to this one, to show a Midsummer celebration in the archipelago this year. But we'll see if I can make it ^_^
@@ThreeStarVagabond I really hope that you do! I've learned Små Grodorna, but I really need someone to teach me Svenska drinking song's - a bit cheeky are they? 😉
@@fayetallantyre9800 Some are cheeky, some are just a bit cute, and some are witty... There's actually a whole bunch of them! I need to include a note about different drinking songs as well if I do that video :D
@@fayetallantyre9800 Well, a mild one is based on a children's song, with "O Tannenbaum" as melody. The children's song is about a bus driver who has a sunny exposition. The Midsummer song is about a bus driver with a giant...eggplant
which city in Sweden is famous spot for celebrating mid Sommer? Or its generally everywhere. Love it ❤ bro white flowers 🌸 necklace on your head 😊 killing me . Haha I think it for girls, if iam not wrong, may be
There's plenty of Midsummer celebrations all over Sweden! But you find a lot of them in Gothenburg and Stockholm, out in the archipelago (west and east), and in the county of Dalarna. However, for many Swedes it's a private celebration at summer cabins. Haha, nah flowers can be worn by anyone at Midsummer. We're not hung up on "macho ideals" like some countries!
Thanks!, I learned so so much!. I celebrated Midsummer once at a Swedish friends house, we ate cold crawfish (with the crackers and herring) BUT there was no WickerMan like sacrifices or cliff jumping... I think we just watched Labyrinth instead.
Too bad about missing out on the Swedish wicker men and ritualistic slaughters! That's a perfect way to end a day filled with horrible cold crawfish and nasty food monstrosities! Hope you got some booze at least...
Congrats on 100 subscribers! I am totally adopting that Finnish Drinking Song. When I moved to the countryside I expected to see Mayploes and other traditional festivals and dances. Sadly not. Guess I have to go the regions of the UK where the pagans live.
Thank you! :D Well yeah, one can imagine lots of weirdness going on in the Orkney Islands or something like that - but maybe not everywhere... I'm sure it's pure The Wicker Man in some isolated places ;)
@@ThreeStarVagabond I took some time yesterday to catch up on your content since I missed few weeks. Glad to see the alchohol has kept its kind presence... and now there's even ducks! Hope all is well man!
