Wonderfully done! the spackling give a whole ne look and ties in the dark wax. The dark wax takes the look from a neutral shaded piece to an old world piece of art! Love the sponging ♡ Thank you for showing us this fabulous technique♡

@@TheReclaimedHeirloom I wonder.🤔 There is a treatment I like doing for accent walls, it is like your frottage technique but done by laying down plastic wrap. Moving your fingers on the wrap to create harder or softer designs. I imagine using a wash you could creat a subtle texture. Could be interesting or may not work with chalk paint.
@TheReclaimedHeirloom
@TheReclaimedHeirloom 4 года назад
Nikki Lloyd ... so funny 🤣 you mentioned that ... I already made a tutorial on that exact process ... using cling wrap and using the cling wrap to create the textures... it actually turned out really well!! I think I would have used better contrasts in colours but overall I was really happy with the technique!! I should have the tutorial out in the next week or two 😉🎨💙

@@TheReclaimedHeirloom lol. . . Your sponging made me think of that. I always painted with a neutral color called bleached almond then topped with a mauve, royal blue or burnt orange always a rich vibrant color. I'm very excited to see yours♡

I appreciate your descriptive techniques so much! I would love to know how you created your staging wall, it is such an interesting yet flexible color scheme that seems to suit every piece you photograph. A video on creating a staging wall/backdrop would be so helpful. There is some info out there on staging by good chalk painting furniture artists but almost nothing on how to create an artistic wall suitable for photographing finished pieces. Thank you for your great videos and inspiration!

Faith Hendrickson ... SPECKLING; 1. A small spot or patch of color. 2. A mark with a large number of small spots or patches of color. SPACKLING; 1. In the United States, spackling paste is a putty used to fill holes, small cracks, and other minor surface defects in wood, drywall, and plaster. Typically, spackling is composed of gypsum plaster from hydrated calcium sulfate and glue.

Hello from France. Your videos are great. Do you never sand the furniture before painting with chalk? Thank you !
@TheReclaimedHeirloom
@TheReclaimedHeirloom 4 года назад
Sylvie DEVAUX ... thank you so much 🙏💙 I really appreciate your kind comment and question 🎨 I don’t sand my chalk paint applications but you definitely can! If you are looking to have a very smooth finish ... I actually recommend you give a light sand with 220 grit sandpaper or higher 😉 If you do sand your chalk paint applications this will not take away your finished look! Again I don’t sand only because I want lots of textures but again you will still achieve your results even with light sanding 💙💙 If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me anytime 🤗

wjs 57 ... thank you so much for your feedback and comment 🙏💙 It’s funny you mentioned the dragging... there is a technique called flogging and I am definitely going to show some really fun effects with that technique as well as combing techniques... it’s very beautiful with different colours !
