► Step 1: Turn your bike upside down
Now you need:
- a tyre lever
- a new inner tube
- a bike pump with a connector for a Schrader car-type valve
- a 5mm hex key - if you have a woom 1, woom 2, or woom 3
► Step 2: Take off the wheel
In case you have gears, shift down to the smallest sprocket, then unloosen the quick-release and unhook the brakes - this is how to take the back wheel off your woom bike. For the woom 2 and woom 3 you have to remove the interior parts of the chainlooper and use the 5mm hex key.

► Step 3: Remove and change the inner tube
Take off the valve cup and push the tyre lever under the tyre so that you can lift the tyre away from one side and take out the tube.
Top tip: Run your fingers through the entire tyre to check for sharp items or thorns and put a bit of air in your new tube to give a helpful shape.
► Step 4: Put a new inner tube onto the rim
Find the valve hole and put the new valve through the valve hole. Make sure the new tube does not get trapped by the tyre. Now push the tyre by hand onto the rim. Next, thread the little nut back on the valve and tighten it.
► Step 5: Mounting the wheel back on the bike
Don't forget to tighten the quick release right away. Then, hook the brake cable back in place. Afterwards, pump up the new inner tube up to around 3 to 3.5 bar. Finally, screw the valve cap back on the valve, control that the gears are working properly and if the wheel runs straight.
▬ How to Replace a Tube ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
When you have a puncture, you’ll want to start by determining what caused the puncture if you can. If there’s a small piece of glass still stuck in the tyre, for example, replacing the tube without removing it will quickly lead to another flat. Also check the condition of the tyre- if the puncture has caused significant damage or if the surface of the tyre is old and worn, replace the tyre as well as the tube.
To replace a bike tube, you’ll need to remove the wheel from the bike and then the tyre from the wheel using tyre levers or your hands. Next, remove the old tube, determine where the puncture occurred if possible, and remove any remaining debris. Replace with a new tube of the appropriate size (tubes are sized by wheel diameter); putting a little bit of air into the tube with a pump often makes it easier to fit the tube into the tyre. Lay the tube inside the tyre, put the tyre back onto the rim using the tyre levers or your hands, and inflate the tyre.
