There are 2 bolts right beside the steering plate, where it connects to the shaft. you can unscrew and push the steering shaft up then you can move the belt under it.
I tried to remove the steering shaft but couldn’t find a better way to get around the problem, but I possibly missed an easier way. Thanks for watching and commenting!
It didn’t smoke when I started it, wasn’t a problem I suppose if it was worrisome to you , just wait a few hours to start it after. Thanks for watching!
Man, it’s been a long time since I bought the belt. Let me look at my parts manual….. The tractor part no. Is: 917.288611 Drive belt 420807 Drive pulley 194343 Deck belt 196103 Hope this helps Thanks for watching!
So my question is did you even have to drop the clutch I just pulled my deck and attempted this belt and realized it was around the steering shaft before I even dropped the clutch
@@Paniro02 I took off the clutch because I also replaced the drive pulley as recommended by a RU-vid channel “Dony Boy” who specializes on small engine and lawn equipment repair. If you’re not changing the pulley I don’t think you need to remove the clutch. Thanks for Watching!
