thanks so much . i ran into the same issue today with exact same mower. i already had spark plug socket 5/8 and 13/16 but not the middel 1. owell.not changing it today

Maybe this will help someone. Mine is model xtx650, 149cc Spark plug- Koehler # 14 132 11 Socket deep well 11/16 Plug gap 0.030 in. Oil capacity 20oz Oil type 30w warm climates, 10w-30 cool climates.

Sorry, could you clarify. If you have a regular socket set, would that be sufficient, or do you still have to buy this special "spark plug" 5/8's wrench at the store?

You're not supposed to tap the electrode, instead check the gap with a gap gauge. This model mower is 0.030 inch.

If you purchase a new spark plug, do you still need to check the gap?
