Grind your pins with more taper. Also as you take out the pin replace it with another pin at same time. New pin will hold trailer aligned. Then change your pin spacer. Reinsert the original pin removing the temp pin.
Sergei, felt sorry for you working in that heat and the frustration of changing the shims. I’ve spoken to you before about having the lock pin on the side of the shim, then just changing the shim without having to completely remove the pin. I’m sure if you spoke to the trailer manufacturer if configuring the pin arrangements that way changing the shims would be easier. I can’t see a major fleet operator tolerating such downtime changing the shims. Once you remove the pins it would be difficult at the best of times to refit once you lift the axles to fit a larger shim.. Leaving the pins in place will at least keep the axles in line while you change the shim. Not being critical of how you was changing the shims but feel there must be an easier way rather than completely removing the pins. Good luck with your load, looking forward to the next episode.
Serguei, I had to laugh watching you fiddle with the shims and all the adjustments. I could tell you were beginning to panic. I wanted to call you on the phone to tell you that the reason the pins would not go in or come out was that you lowered the gooseneck and then finally you figured it out. When you got the one pin out you should have gone to the other side to get that one out too. Then swap shims in tandem before raising the gooseneck to get the pins back in.
Ive never seen someone changing shims all the time and i cant see why.If you set it so its straight then control it with ride height on each set of bags
Hi most any tractor supply or any agricultural equipment dealer will have them o rings. You have to be careful to get the right ones some are round and some are flat .Just some advice.
If you see a Bobcat or skid steer shop even a place selling tractors, harvesters or dump trailers will have your o rings for the quick connects. High flow quick connects. Sometimes they fall out. Look on the machine and see if there are any on the boom you could borrow 😂 👍👍👍
In my day we didn't have shims and airbags. Easiest way to transfer weight to truck is move load forward and visa versa. You have 3 feet on deck to move load forward, probably transfer 8,000 -10,000lbs
I would think the proper shims should have been installed when excavator was loaded, but like I said before, I just don't get heavy haul trucking. Good videos to watch, but actually doing heavy haul not so much. Time to switch to B-Train trucking.
I would find a john deere or case ih dealer for o rings, usually much easier access fo parking, you wont get that rig parked at harbor freight in fargo, theres barely room for cars
Hey Captain Sergei. Those are the same quick connect couplers we have on our farm equipment. You can get replacement o-rings at TSC stores or any farm equipment dealer. I enjoy watching your videos. Be safe and safe travels from one crazy canuck to another.
That machine should of been about 24 inches towards the goosneck to begin with and have the drives towards the goosneck as well to get proper weight disribution running a jeep set up
any hydraulic shop or equipment dealer should be able to help you with your leaky quick disconnects. my choice is to try and find a PARKER store, specialized in hydraulic hose and fittings with sales people that know their products, or a NAPA auto parts. you should be able to get rubber or plastic plugs to keep the connecters clean when they are not in use. I like to use brake parts cleaner and a penetrating oil like WD40 or Blasters to clean the quick couplers before connecting them.
Why dont you push the pin threw the opposite way, from the outside then you don't need to remove the pin fully to change the shims. Keep up the good work 👍👍
Fair enough, couldn't remember if the shim coller was on the outside or inside. Have you thought of purchasing a extra pin, then you could slide that in as you pull the other out keeping everything lined up. I'm off work at the moment injured, got to much time to think 🤣🤣 so keep up the good videos, need something to stop my boredom.
Yes tractor supply or places that have ag supply. I would suggest just getting the couplers. It's a lot less hassle to replace and in replacing you run I higher risk of damaging the seal and still have a leak
That trailer next to him at 1:55. Thats a lot of axles. Can anyone tell me how many axles the tractor had as my screen on my phone is cracked and i cant see it.
Sir sergei !!! GREAT JOB with lots of running back & forth !!! I asked when you loaded at the shipper if you needed to reshim ???? Anyhows ,, maybe you won't have to reshim at the next load ??? ""KEEP IT SAFE ""!!!
the truck, trailer, jeep, spreader bar, and 2 flip boxes (neck extensions). Sometimes I think I'm quite well off, except I have 'a few' payments left ;)
WHEW! Colonel you got your exercise with that job. You obviously are a man of great patience and knowledge. I enjoy your videos but empathize with your working in that weather. Glad you got the shims in place and are ready to continue. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.
