An impact driver looks very much like a regular drill. But there is a difference in how you change bits. And in this short video, I'll show what you need to know to change a bit in an impact driver. The front has a modified type of chuck. And the benefit of using an impact driver is that it gives you extra power for driving in tough screws and bolts. The most important thing to know is what type of driver bit to use. Notice that this Philips bit has a little notch on the back. This is what the chuck on an impact driver grabs onto. So here on the front, there's a spring loaded collar. And to insert a bit, pull this out, insert then release. To take it out, just do the reverse. It's really quite simple once you know how! And what I've shown you here should apply to any brand impact driver... not just Black and Decker.
