Great video. Really helped a lot. I noticed you seemed worried about the length of the video, so just wanted to say that I prefer detailed instructions like you gave, as opposed to someone rushing through a video and skipping over important info. Your video was perfect.
This really helped. Longer videos that go into detail and explain are better anyways over short ones that skip straight to the point. Have an elite controller. Wasn't much different besides the extra wire for the extra buttons on the back. Was fun to take it apart.
Actually planning on changing my case and buttons, this video helped tons! Glad it was lengthy. You went real in depth with it unlike a lot of people do. I now know how to take apart and change things on Xbox and PS4. Subbed for sure, thanks mate!
Thank you for this video. I've just decided to get into the whole customization side of things. Although I'm a PC gamer, I have the official Xbox One controller for Windows (which is basically the Xbox One S controller). But I don't like to just dive right into things without forethought and planning. I don't have the steadiest of hands either. But there's a saying we use here in England--where there's a will, there's a way. So I just work around it, and find ways to steady things.
Thank you for sharing this video with us. the best of all instructional videos on how to open an xbox one controller and changing the buttons. a xbox one controller is a real puzzle compared with the xbox360 controllers. without your instructions i was going to have a lot problems . thank you !
Who said modding was suppose to be easy? Great guide, I used it for reference in 2019 to teardown the new controller. Note, the new controller also have a an extra antenna connection in midsection, make sure you carefully disconnect it before removing the mobo. If buttons fall out, do not worry...the controller is like a puzzle, buttons only fit in their right places/holes. The newer controller also have a modular 3,5mm port that falls out on disassembly...juts put it back in place when assembling the controller, and you should be fine. I accidently snapped my rumble pack wire, but I will solder it... no biggie. If you snap it, go buy a 10 USD soldering iron and fix it, or find someone to help you. Great video!
Thanks man. Helped a lot. Just took my elite controller ( which had a bad drift in the right joystick.) apart and modded a basic controller with the buttons and joysticks from the elite. It’s badass now.
Thank you good sir, great work! I was able to deconstruct my controller as so as sadly a lot of the buttons were sticky. Cleaned and it works charmless, thank you for tf his video as a car mechanic to a controller one thank you!
Is there a way that I could take off my X and B buttons and put the X button where the B button was and the B button where the X button was so when I press the X button is works like B button and the B button works like the X button?
One of the buttons are smaller than the other ones. The B button is way smaller than the other 3 and I can’t figure out how to fix it. Will it fix itself when I put the case back on maybe by pushing the board down or what do I do
I tried fixing a drift in the left thumbstick of my controller. It was out of warranty so I opted to try to fix it myself, but now the controller won't turn on completely. Its a limited edition controller so I would like to try to get it working if I can, is there any way you could help?
ParakoHD that's a tough question without seeing it! When you assembled on the back did you make sure the 2 prongs for the batteries went in the controller I've seen people not do that and the batteries can't make contact hope that makes since on explanation
Is it possible to just take off the ab xy buttons and put them back but in the traditional nintendo style ab xy button layout? I heard you could remap buttons with an app on the xbox one, but i would also like to change the physical buttons to where i want them. i'm a current wii u owner and looking to upgrade to the xbox one s.
When I was changing the a b x and y buttons on my xbox one s controller only the b button would work and the other buttons did not feel right and are not working
Yea all the rumble packs do is vibrate. so if you like your vibration in ur remote I'd suggest keeping them. Idk about you but when my controller doesn't vibrate it feels like something is wrong with the controller
Yeah I wouldn't try this if you are inpatient like myself: I teared a wire so raged and snapped the motherboard: just went and got a new controller because off it lol stick to just replacing the shell and thumb sticks if you can! :)
My A button is so worn in that the slightest touch activates it. Does anyone know if replacing the button will fix it or do I need a new one of those rubber pieces that go over the buttons?
Any videos on changing or removing sync button specifically? Couldn't tell if it's necessary to take off the casing of the controller to get to that area. Mine is jammed and making the controller constantly try to connect even when it already is
I'm so stupid, I couldn't sync it so I took it apart to find out i didnt need to take it part so now my sync is broken and I can't get the button back in, but on the plus side when i turned my controller on it was magically synced :/
Just changed my buttons, now my A - Y & X buttons dont work at all. I can't see any issues, all wires are connected. Rubber seems to be on perfectly. B button works fine Any ideas?
A bit late, but if the only button working is the B button then that indicates that there's a problem with the front motherboard (the one closest to the face of the controller). Is there a chance that you've short circuited a piece of that board? Also, while you're putting the boards back in place into the controller frame it's important that you plug the two boards together after you screw the first one in, but before you screw in the second one. You likely already knew this if you took apart your controller, but it wasn't mentioned in the video so I figured I'd bring it up.
Hey My A button is jammed, it wont move at all, i can push it and The A activates slightly Can replacing button fix this? Update: Fixed it..The Rubber Button thing broke where the A Button is. I bought a new rubber button thing from eBay. It works
Jesus Christ well it's a late reply. Ive fixed it. The Rubber Sillicone button thing was broken. The A Part of it was broke off If you ever have the problem. Now you know Must of been from playing GTA V too much xD always spamming the A Button
Great video but anyone thinking about doing this, you might want to ask a professional or not do it at all. I just ruined my $250 scuf because i thought i could do it myself and accidentally pulled wires out. DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK
TheLegend 19980 it could be broken plastic it's honestly hard to say without seeing it! If you have a picture of the RB you can send that to me condemnedcustoms@gmail.com and I can see if I can help answer it for you
So you took the controller off camera while explaining how to put the bumpers back on??? Next time keep the controller visible to the camera while explaining how to put back together.
