Outstanding video and camera work - keep up the great work!! I am about to do this on my Z3 and this was really helpful. Much less intimidating after watching your step by step tutorial on the E46 :)

no the engine mounts are designed to hold the engine hence.. engine mounts. when gearbox is removed the engine can rest on the engine mounts without problem.

the same way? its not like the engine moves to another place when on jackstands. tho filming a how to, on jackstands is not good, because you cant get the same camera angles.
I've done this on the floor on an E36. Tough tough job and not for the faint of heart. Must raise the car at least 22cm off the ground. Used an engine support bar to tilt and support the engine. Also used a wide range of extensions, rust penetrator fluid, impact gun, and a small scissor jack to lower and raise the transmission. If working uninterrupted this job could be completed in a weekend.
Is it nessesary to change also flywheel ? I have 320 cd cabrio 2006 and what happens that auto is shaking when releasing pedal in first gear and only first 4-5 starts, later nothing. I guess plate is bended so when geting warm it is more flexible and no shaking. My question do i have to change alao flywheel ?
@@mstv8849if its dual mass flywheel then you should because their job is to preserve transmission from engine vibrations and turbo diesels vibrate much more than atmospheric petrol engines. so every time you change clutch you should change dual mass flywheel. if you drive petrol then just get the surface cleaned or machined if its badly burned, but that only applies to solid disc flywheel.
