How to: Change Commercial Mower Blades on John Deere Ztrak 

I use Oregon brand "Gator Blades" They chop up grass into small bits and still provide high lift vacuum. I've used these for about 11 years and like them a lot. I buy them on Ebay. Type in the OEM JD number to cross reference and get the right blades. I get 6 or 9 at a time to get a better price.

That's for sure! I just back the nuts off with my cordless impact, remove blades, tighten nuts again with the impact (easy on the torque) and I'm done. A block, and all those wrenches are NOT needed.

@@p71collector I have a John Deere 997R (the best zero turn built lol) and I do the same thing do. Start the season off with 6 sharp sets of blades. Just changed a set yesterday. Put a strap behind front wheels and pick it almost straight up with my 6220. Milwaukee M18 impact, like you said, watch the torque, less than 5 minutes it's done. Throw a little grease to the spindles. All set. Have a great weekend.
